Dave doesn't know WTF he's talking about. He thinks that's the original engine. 🤔😂😂😂
The amazing thing is that the motor doesn't look huge under the hood of the '57. It has a high rise intake and he didn't need to modify the hood. I usually see these motors in the cars from the '60's and early '70's and they need a hood scoop. I really like how the hood didn't have to me modified, it make the car look extra clean this way. Nice ride!
@tacticaljeep94

Tim Patterson thanks. The reason it fit is that we modified the air cleanerbase to sink over the carb. The top of the air cleaner has maybe a 1/8 inch to the underside of the hood.

I'm usually a total purist with the love of my life - the '57 Bel Air - but, I must say, that is an awesome resto-rod. Kudos to you for keeping all the details stock. You just can't improve with anything original on that car. The naysayers call it "an over-rated shoebox"? Give me a break. It's gorgeous and tough looking at the same time.

This 57 looks awesome! The wheels are a little too big for my taste, but at least their in proportion front to back and fill the wheel wells nicely and the style is classic. A tad smaller wheel with a little more sidewall would be perfect in my opinion.

Nice. I had one in 1978 when I lived in Brooklyn. Had a lot fun. It had, like this one, the glass reverse light lens, which is very rare. Most of them did not come with the reverse light let alone in glass. Probably a special order in those days. Today I still regret I sold it. :(
