60W laser cutter has no power.

Ғылым және технология

Not sure what's wrong, or what I'm doing wrong. This machine has no power. Won't even cut 2mm MDF at 5mm/s and full power.

Have you set the focus properly? If the height between the work piece and the laser head is off, even by a few MM it won't cut properly. Also a dirty focus lens can stop the beam being focused.

if you turn the speed up it will cut fine, ours does the same thing and we found that we have to run at no less than 7mm a second to have full power. havent figured out why yet.

Have you measured the current draw of the tube? If it draws too much current this is what you will get.

hi, i want to share some tips and tricks about these type of machines. im going to skip all the basics like lens cleaning and focussing etc because lacking the basics means you have no idea what youre doing with a flesh cutting laserbeam so those peeps should go play with a chainsaw instead. 1. clean all mirrors, not just the lens 2. check if lens is installed facing the correct direction. check curved side of glass. (your machine probably came with only one general purpose "all round" lens. ask your supplier for an additional cutting lens and/or an envraving lens for better application specific efficiency and get higher capacity out of your machine. be mindful that you have the right lens installed for the right job tho.) 3. when a far top left position is used when setting the focus, then move the head to all corners of the table and check each one by measurement. the table can be crooked or the XY slider assy can be wacky. if you have a Z axis table under the stationary bed, ensure that it is leveled by the same proces, and also check if the Z table is is properly guided and does not wobble while Z travel is in motion 4. starting at the tube end, cover the hole of the beam entry side of the mirror block with some paper tape, then manual fire the beam and check if the tape gets piercedt reasonably in the center of the mirror. make very small adjustments of only one setscrew at a time, fire the laser again to see your adjustments on the tape. when its centered remove that tape progress downstream to the next mirror and repeat this until all mirrors are centered. dont adjust any mirrors corner setscrew! just the top and bottom. leave mirrors alone if you are not certain how to correct them. 5. the laser tube has a limited number of operating hours. the chinese product datasheet values just as blindly copied from the original manufacturer of the product they cloned. the clone does not get tested and does not reach those specs due to using inferior materials, techniques, and returned goods that may have failed performancened lack of qualify control and skilled workers. also, a spec value should be allowed with an accuracy tolerance of probaly 50%. 6. the cutting timer on the machine is probabably not counting in realworld time. stopwatch measure the actual time it takes and compare to machines timer to check how much the general deviation is on a large program. keep in mind that your stopwatch time does not mean tube operation hours as the laser will start/stop, amp up/down, etc. the accumulative operating hours are often bumped up dramatically to appear as if the tube performance decrease is as to be expected for that high number of operation hours. 7. check the tube cooling liquid circuit, suficient flow, airbubbles, liquid level in the resevoir (visually!) open the tank, dont rely on any sensors on any of the equipment, check the cooling pump and the cooler system. temperature problems will permanently damsage your tube 8. if you have had any cooling issues at some point in the past, you probably discovered it by poor performance of the machine, meaning the tube has been operated for some time after cooling failure, up to tbe point where it started to fail and gets noticed. by then, the damage from overheating has decreased the lifespan of the tube significally. again, do not attempt to adjust or change anything on your machine or apply any of the above suggested points if you are not familiar with the technology, do not try to fiddle with the hardware if you are not certain of what you are doing or if you do not fully understand the procedures mentioned. always be aware of the risks of any of your actions by understanding dangers. when in doubt, dont touch, call a certified technician hope it turns out useful to anyone, good luck

I am having the same problem, I have read its a 110 volt issue, but not quite sure. My Machine was sold as 110v model and shows no sign of 220v but it wont cut 1/4 wood or 1/8 acrylic. "supposed to be a 60 watt machine" . It engraves perfectly and have checked all mirrors and lens. All is well, just doesn't have power. I have lowered the cutting speed as well, no changes. just burns the wood more.

Same. Had to lower the speed more and more. New tube and I could not raise the speed. Perhaps the power supply but the current looks ok.

I have the same machine and it will cut 21 mm pine at 80%. If you've used this machine regularly at 95% you've probably damaged the CO2 in the tube. This laser should not be run above 22mA control current and that occurs at about 82% power. Check RDWorks Learning Lab for how to fit an milliammeter.

Hi all. I have same problem before. But my own solution is by elevating the aluminum base using 1 cm wood. So I put some wood below the aluminum base to make the laser lense become closer to object. And now my machine can cut object better than before.

Adjust height .25 above the material , adjust speed slower then 5 , remove masking paper , and it will cut .
