What are the odds this video popped up?? I destroyed a 24x24 gallery wrap last night. It took HOURS to mix the paint and pigments, beautiful hand mixed metallics, only to pour and come up super short. Overstretched the image to the point of ruining the entire pour. Tried to save it and wasted more paint. So frustrating. Using your calculation it seems I had 1/3 of the recommended amount of paint. 🤦🏼♀️ Makes sense now. Thank you so much for this video!! I’ll try your recommendation! 😉😁

She's going by centimeters. If you go by inches I believe your right with dividing by 28. I'd have to watch one of Mina's vids again to be certain. I like your bunny, did you paint that?
@ursaltydog
4 жыл бұрын
@@ArtByJulieE I think she gave both ounces and grams, the ounces for the inches? I didn't paint the bunny, unfortunately. It's the Lepus (Hare) constellation. Rabbits represent my birth family's surname. :) I've always had an infinity for them even long before discovering my birth family. And I'm gay, so I searched for a rainbow colored Lepus icon and shrunk it down :)
@chrissyfrancis8952
4 жыл бұрын
I use the LxW/28 I just add more ounces depending on techniques. I give myself enough paint to chose what I want to pour off, but I’ve never used 32ounces on my larger canvases. If you’ve watched Julie for awhile, you know she says “I have too much paint” a lot, but she’s very particular on the results she wants & it’s her paint to use however she wishes.

Thankyou Julie. I have just started out. Does the amount of paint you wish to use include the base paint or is it separate.
Which one glue are you use?
Dear Artist.... love your ART. Do you have a sheet copy of measurement I may get a copy of? I would greatly appreciate it.i I didn’t see it on here so that I. Oils take a snap shot of it.
THANK YOU FOR THE REFRESHMENT OF PYTHAGORAS.......LOL.... I DO REALLY APPRECIATE THE MEASUREMENTS....:)
That meat looks better than what I have in my freezer. If I come to Australia with some wings on my back, can you give me a container of meat? lol

Did she say "dog meat"?

Michelle Lynde she did. I tried to read the label and was unsuccessful.
You’ve said that you like to use a lot of paint and as do I. Just wondering-do you get cracking from a thick coating of paint as it dries? I’ve been having trouble with that.

2 much paint in your mix- add more PM in and try that
So if we are just doing regular acrylic painting, just half the amounts?
woww.. so I've been gauging wrong in the LxW/28? I havent' done any flip pours yet, so that may be where the difference is. Thank you so much for the details and of course sharing the avian wildlife! :)

She's going by centimeters. If you go by inches I believe your right with dividing by 28. I'd have to watch one of Mina's vids again to be certain. I like your bunny, did you paint that?

@@ArtByJulieE I think she gave both ounces and grams, the ounces for the inches? I didn't paint the bunny, unfortunately. It's the Lepus (Hare) constellation. Rabbits represent my birth family's surname. :) I've always had an infinity for them even long before discovering my birth family. And I'm gay, so I searched for a rainbow colored Lepus icon and shrunk it down :)

I tried using tried using this chart (my screenshot of the printout) to do a straight pour on a 12x16 and 25 oz was Waaaaaaaay too much! I saw another artist who 7-8 oz so now i'm totally confused 😜😟
Nobel Peace Prize awaits you 👍✊️👍🎨😁

It is dog food which is available at our supermarkets. :)
I’m confused because using your calculations for a 20 x 20 it would be 52 0z and the calculator on line says I would need 17.2 oz

I’m also confused. According to these calculations, I would need 56oz of paint! That just seems too much. That’s almost a gallon of paint
