I’ve had the same cheap wallet for 15 years now and it’s falling apart. I feel like a nice, designer, leather wallet pays off in the long run because it’s not like you buy a wallet every year like women buy purses.

My opinions on this definitely have gone back and forth over time. On one hand, your cheap wallet did last 15 years, that means if it cost $45, it only cost $3/year! If my LV wallet lasts 15 years, then it will have cost $40/year, which means you could buy a new wallet almost every year and it will cost the same, but then the argument is maybe the LV wallet is nicer? But since my girlfriend bought me this one, I will be happily using this one with no complaints! The sentimental value is more than $600 for sure!

Sheeeeesh. Those are the crispest $10 bills I’ve seen. Normally the 10s I get look like they’ve been sitting underneath an overpass for the last 10 months getting run over by semi’s.

I bought my first LV wallet in 2010 while in NY at the 5th ave LV store. Paid 300 total USD for it and it lasted me 13 years. After this time near the 10 year mark the threads near the bottom where it folds came loose and it cracked in that area. I still had the original box and bag it came in. I gave it to a good friend of mine and he was very happy with it and will use it for many more years I am sure. I recently bought well last year the LV+YK multiple wallet for 1050 plus tax CAD a totally insane price and in short LV wallets are not what they used to be. IT will be my last LV purchase and no matter how worn it gets it is my last wallet as well given what it cost.

I thought I lost my wallet, but I found it in the pants in the washing machine. It held up pretty good.😮

I once bought a 700 lv wallet. Then i returned it in a few days cause im tight even though i can afford.

Definitely agree with you here. I hear a lot of people try to justify their expensive purchases with "oh this ____ will last 10 years, so it's only like $0.10 per wear", but like bruh, my $10 shoes also will last 10 years, so it's like $0.000001 per wear. But this was a gift from my gf, so I will use it and cherish it for as long as it lasts

thats actually not true. i have lots of $50 wallets but 3yrs time everyday use (i only use 1 wallet i dont have spare) signs of tear is already inevitable. got my 1st lv wallet last yr everyday use up until now still in prestine condition
