60 tonnes of catfish on 2 plots in 12 months
Do you know you can make up to ₦18,000,000 million in profit culturing catfish on a small piece of land?
This portion of our fish farm measures about 200 ft x 200 ft and it accommodates 4 earthen ponds, each measuring 20 m by 20 m.
If you have something similar in a swampy area with good water supply, do you know that you can produce up to 60 tonnes of catfish on it in 12 months?
Watch my analysis with figures what you can do with such piece of property
From cost of hiring machinery to pond digging, pond preparation to cost of fish seeds and feeds and so on.
Note, I don’t know the cost of a plot of Swampy land in your area.
Find out the cost of 1kg fresh fish fish for both table size and smokers size in your area.
Do you own research and work out your figures and I’m open to questions.

Here in Anambra state you don't need to tell people that you have fish , once you start the project the traders go come immediately, 😊even if you have 10,000fishes in number, the villagers go consumer it. So market is never a problem,
You are a practising fish farmer. Well done, sir.
Thanks...
There is market 24/7 in cat fish business. Infact up till now, we never meet up with the demand, I , appreciate your effort
Thanks so much for sharing. You shared a lot for free.

Thank you so much for this....please I'm always impressed by the sizes of fish you dry. They are quite massive. I'm sure those are not melange...what do they weigh and how old are they? And an important question please. You said if you feed the 10k fish 6250kg of feed you will get 500g in 4 months. Please pardon my ignorance cos I'm just starting and doing this on a very small scale. I want to learn the ropes very well before I go big. So my question is does it mean that when you stock a lot of fish you expect smaller sizes and slower growth? Why I'm asking is cos in my tiny farm my fish consumes less than 1kg in less than 4 months and gets to an average of 1.1kg in that time. So going by this I'm thinking 10k fish should finish 6250kg in less than 4months and then get up to at the very least 600g. Please my question is am I able to get what I'm getting cos I'm still doing this on a very small scale? Please your answer will be highly appreciated 🙏

Yes. You can get better results if you understock your farm. The fish have more natural feed to eat aside from the artificial feeds that you are giving them
How many month can one use to learn from your farm
I do put just 500 fish for 9 months in this kind of pond in my farm

I’m a full time fish farmer and I live close to my farm.

If you’re target weight is 500g, you’ll spend roughly N9M on fish juveniles and fish feeds.
Why didn't hire an excavator to dig instead of spending 200k on to dig each pond...

The 200k he is /was meaning to be spent on sand baging , netting , inlet &outlet water source , then removing mud be4 introducing juveniles into the pond
