Your opening statement was like me talking! I have suffered from depression, brain fog, anxiety for decades. As much as I tried I couldn't squeeze any joy out of life. I tried diet, medication, exercise, looking for the golden bullet but it never existed. Last Thursday I went to the pub drank 6-7 pints which is usual for me when i am out. I wasn't enjoying myself and was miserable. When I got home I was engulfed by a wave of complete sadness and I broke down in front of my wife sobbing uncontrollably. I knew I couldn't drink again, it was so clear, I have no idea where it came from, I am not religious but the clarity was something I have never experienced. This weekend is the 1st weekend since I was a teenager (IAM now 40) where I haven't drank. I know it's very early days but these videos help so much . X

Awesome brother, so glad for you. I'm 3 weeks into my 3rd year of no alcohol. I never thought I could get off of it. Sadly, most do not, most will perish in this sin. You do realize you are a very small percentage of those who get sobriety.

Been depressed and anxious for years now even though my life's going great. I don't currently drink loads but I do drink often. I've stopped for a week now and currently feeling good. Hopefully it's not a placebo effect and my better mood continues with the sobriety. Thanks for the video. It's great inspiration.

@@sreyen1065I am 38 and drank since i was a teen and almost 12 months sober, alcohol free. I wasnt a full blown alcoholic but did abuse alcohol ever since i was like 23. There was a period of time i drank 5-7 nights a weeek. I would never drink during the day though, only at night.I was a weekend binge drinker myself for years. Weekends were hard for me for the first couple months. Boredom was what made it hard for me. I drank alone on the weekends bc i was always bored. What helped me the most is doing nothing but watching these no drinking videos and just going for a walk. After the first couple of months it was a breeze tbh. I dont EVER even think abt alcohol anymore. Trust me, I never thought i would quit. I tried to quit a few times but never made it more than 3 or 4 months. This time when I quit, it for some reason just felt different but in a good way. My advice would just be to watch videos like this when you even think abt it, also watch those alcoholic interventions of drunks acting a fool. Those really helped me. Dont have ANY alcohol in your home and maybe read or learn something. You can do it man, just gotta get over those first few months. If you are like a bad alcoholic, might wanna seek sobriety under a doctors care bc really bad alcoholics can die from withdrawals when trying to get sober. Just find ANYTHING to occupy your time and watch these videos. It truly does help. Wish you luck man, you got this!

@@AdamMayhewAF without question! Every time I even think about taking a drink of Ethanol (I am always deliberate to tell myself what I am actually wanted to drink. It helps!) then I just remember how much money I will spend, time I will WASTE and the recovery time plus all the damage I was doing to my body. I am more focused, less irritated, handle problems WAY better and sleep is wonderful!
