These particular fighters and their injuries were highlighted, because they are all well-known. Most people want to see what has happened to fighters they personally know, not some 3rd rate fighter who has never made it past local promotions. Peace.

I’ve been through something similar. The bad part is once you feel the pain of your own bones breaking, it kind of breaks you mentally. But you can’t let it stop you but in a way it does. It makes you a little more conservative and not reckless. Some injuries you can’t come back from. I’ve watched all of these guys fight since day one and when they get hurt bad it makes my stomach turn. I’ve been there, and you can’t help but feel pain where you were hurt when you see it. Best to all of them. Spirit can never die but bones do break.

They say how bad it hurts to break the lower part of the leg. Think of how bad it hurts to have your Femur Shattered into little pieces. The surgery to remove all the pieces of bone then Dr makes a 12" cut on hip so a stainless steel rod can replace the Bone Marrow and screw it into place in hip and knee. Now that freaking hurts..still have the rod in it after almost 40 years.

Me too from a motorcycle wreck!

There’s been quite a few elite fighters who have suffered snapping their lower legs during a fight. Anderson Silva, Chris Weidman, Conor McGregor, even Sean O’Malley to a lesser extent. It’s one of those things that can’t be avoided. Every time a heavy low kick is thrown, there’s a chance that the leg will snap. That’s got to weigh on the fighter’s minds.

@MrJRW1 That's why it's always important in karate to toughen up the shins and legs so you can check kicks and do leg kicks. I blame Muay Thai and Kickboxing for doing those roundhouse kicks to the legs, and maybe Mirko Cro Cop, but Japanese karate from what I've learned is more front kick and thigh kick oriented than roundhouse. Also, that hematoma on Joanna's head was disgusting.

The weidman 1 was crazy!! What r the odds hes in a fight where his opponent breaks his leg while throwing a leg kick and then years later the exact same thing happened to him!!? Thats just crazy! The odds of being in 1 fight where that happens is crazy enough but then to be in another fight and have it happen but this time to u!? Thats just unbelievable!? They should ban the sport and incarcerate those running UFC and other MMA orgs. People could get killed there. Or maimed for life! Disgraceful. What if the fighter goes blind?!

seriously, these guys are wussies over a broken leg. motorcycle racers break their legs, hands, feet, shoulders and are back on a bike in 2 to 3 weeks racing at 200mph again. not talking about retiring.
