6 Week Old Rescue squirrel Gets Bath, Food, Playtime and Sleep [Very Little Action]
This is Molly, a 6 week old rescue fox squirrel that was orphaned when she was only 3 weeks old. Here she is getting a warm bath. Fed formula. Play time. Then she falls asleep in my hands and is returned to her palace (cage). At approximately 16 weeks, she will get a soft release: Her outdoor cage will be opened and then she will be able to come and go as she pleases. Some squirrels leave and never come back. Other's will come and go for a few days until they establish a safe nest out in the wild. I received my training from Texas Metro Wildlife Rehabilitators. She acts like she is starving! She it fed 5% of her body weight 4 times a day. In this video she was about 200 grams, so she was getting 10ml of milk formula at each feeding.

What a terrific video with you and Molly. Like Sundoesshine said. and I completely feel the same. I hope Minnie is watching down and can see that her little girl is in good hands and the future is bright for her, knowing she will have an adopted stepbrother too. Does this now mean you have received your rehabbers permit?

Trak - You probably had no idea you would ever be a squirrel rehabber, did you? Do baby squirrels at that age play at all or are they still in the lunch and snooze stage?

Molly likes to climb around and to be tickled. I can have her on her back and tickle her belly, arms and legs.
So hold on now. Is that You doing all this at home?, she's there With you??

@@trakdv362 Was this at the same class you went to last week or another one? It's pretty amazing to see you helping Molly, and see how sweet she is via this video which I thank you for making. She loved that back scratching at 10:42 soo much. I hope Minnie knows somehow that her little one is in such good hands.

Do not feed a rescued squirrel only peanut butter. I have friend who’s younger brother and gf rescued a young a squirrel, made it a comfortable living environment, and then fed it peanut butter until it expired.
