6 Week Old Newborn Fussiness & Witching Hour TIPS

We used the vent fan in the kitchen for white noise. Seemed to really help when my baby would get fussy. I would also put in one head phone and dance gently with her. It gave me something to listen to besides the crying and helped me relax. My daughter would fall asleep in my arms. Hang in there mamas and daddys it doesn't last forever and you'll get through it. One day at a time, then one day you'll be gearing up for a witching hour that just doesn't happen!

if this is a problem others are dealing with rule out that you may be having a forceful let down. My baby had the same behavior and i realized its because the milk let down from my breast started being too much for his small mouth and he was having a hard time swallowing and pacing the feed.

Too late for your baby now but if anyone else reads this, I have to wait until my baby is in a really deep sleep before moving to the bassinet - when tee baby isn't moving in their sleep. A co-sleeper bassinet is also a godsend. Mine doesn't wake up if moved to a co sleeper because she isn't moved much.

Hello, I would make sure your LO isn't showing any signs of illness or teething (your LO is probably still on the very early side for this). Your LO may also be hungrier if going through a growth spurt and needing more milk. • @Babysleepmadesimple

    2 жыл бұрын

Hello Amy, Those first three months can be really tough! We call it the "fourth trimester". It seems like there is a lot of "witching" during those times too. Babies still need a lot of support and assistance with falling asleep during this time. This is why we don't recommend sleep training until at least 5 months of age when your LO is developmentally ready to self-soothe and fall asleep independently. There are still plenty of things you can do though to encourage better sleep. Check out our 2 month old sleep guide for helpful tips! www.babysleepmadesimple.com/how-to-help-2-month-old-baby-sleep-well Best, Alyssa, BSMS Support Team
