This really helped because I showed my mom this video then my dog stepped on a nail. We removed the object (my mom got bit in the process), and did everything you said. We took him to the vet, and found out that the nail hit a vane, and if we hadn't done what we did, he could've lost his paw. Thanks Bright Side! You save my dogs paw! If only i knew this, just 2days ago my puppy kobe died eating a rat, i never knew about it, i just notice he wont eat food and his not energetic.. i cant do anything cos i dont know what to do, i dont even have a money to carry him to a veterenarian.. i miss you kobe! Sean mel Cuñado the rat probably ate rat poison. This is why homes with cats and some types of dogs (hunting & ratting dogs) should never use rat poison to get rid of rats. Because when the rats eat the poison it makes them focus only on running out to fresh air, without being concerned about their safety, so they may run right in front of your pet. And your pet will likely catch the rat, and even if it doesn’t fully eat the rat, just killing it involves biting its neck, which would cause the pet to ingest the contaminated blood, and get sick or die. If you suspect this happened to your pet call a poison control center immediately.

I performed cpr on a pet rat once. Had never done it before but figured it was worth a try. Happy to say it worked, and the rat lived for another year & a half. Now I'm jokingly referred to as "The rat whisperer"!

My cat somehow got a piece of string caught in her mouth and in her gut. She had ulcers around her tongue and wasn't eating it drinking. Her temperature dropped. So we took her to our vet where they xrayed her and said it was a string. They did surgery and now she's back to her mean, ornery self. I love my baby and thank God for the vets and for getting her better.

I used to work security at a power plant and I found a wonderful stray kitty, She was begging and crying one cold Thanksgiving and so I let he in my patrol post (we were supposed to be VERY cautious and not interact with animals there cause there's a risk they could have wondered into restricted areas but she seemed normal so I let her in and threw the rules out the window) after I got off duty was relieved me and my relief officer hid her from the chief who came every end of shift to collect patrol reports and vehicle in-out logs and when I got off duty I took her home, she became my pet, All seemed fine until one day I noticed a HUGE lump under her right cheek around her lymph node, I thought OMG ,All these years later turns out she may have been exposed afterall, Well after rushing her to the vet I found out it's only some rotten teeth causing the area to swell, Relief, But also it's a day to day battle getting her to take her antibiotic even though the liquid likely tastes like bananas (smells like bananas) she still hates to have that dropped into her mouth though so I have to just squirt out a bit on her face and she licks it up. I will glad once they pull these bad teeth and she returns to normal :).

My dog was choking on his treat last week & he’s a small dog. He swallowed it & didn’t chew. Thank God we were able to help him & he’s still with us. Glad this video popped up because I’ve been looking for videos to do incase of an emergency.

We had two dogs who were sprayed by a skunk! We called the vet and even though they had all their shots the vet recommended to separate them for 30 days for any sign of possible rabies! ( they had the skunk in their mouths and was shaking the skunk.) so to get rid of the smell we could bathe the dogs two ways- bathe in toothpaste-Colgate or bathe in tomato juice we bathed them in tomato juice easier! The smell went away! Wow I will never forget that!

My miniature schnauzer, Spirit, once choked on a treat.... he was a puppy and I was little at the time too (we kind of grew up together) and my mom had to reach into his throat to pull it out and needless to say he learned his lesson and chews everything he eats very thoroughly before swallowing now

When i was a baby one of the cats got out we had a boy and girl cat and we lived in a quiet area the cat got shot outside my mother and my grandfather were out for lunch and my grandmother was babysitting me when my grandfather and mom got back they saw 2 dead squirrels in the pool then around front we saw the poor buddy boy (his name) he was dragging his hind legs walking to my grandfather at that point he said” were gonna move im not gonna sue cuz i know who did it and i dont want any of us to get shot because he thought we were animals! He races to the vet with my mom and the cat was okay. Both cats live with us right now in our 2 story rustic home and whenever i wanna hear the story anybody tells me! My grandmother grandfather mom. Proof that animals can survive things like getting shot and stuff. Thank you for reading this long story❤️

Please don't forget: this can be great EMERGENCY care- you can remove your pet from immediate harm, but that does not mean your pet is *entirely* out of harm. These are quick solutions to issues that might be big issues. As soon aa your pet is stable enough to survive a ride to the vet, get it there ASAP. The vomiting might have been a gastrointestinal issue, the seizure could have been a neurological issue, and the controlled bleeding on stool might have been an internal hemorrhage- and you'll only be able to know and treat these conditions by getting to a licensed professional.

Yeah but like in his comment he shows what can you do like vomiting and how to save your cat from poisoning or stuff like that so if your cat has poisoning and it shows like what part of the video that’s where he’s doing that information and you could just like skip the video to that part and see the information

it really works, it saved my baby cats life , Mothe to snout.alsomy service dog cut herself i could not find the source of bleeding , a clean sanatary pad because dog was black helped me find where to control the cut.

This is a very important thing to watch. But also scary.

My dog got gum on his foot once (Edit:he also ate the inside of a tennis ball that we made sure he didn’t have then we had to take him to the vet, after he got a little bit of medicine from the vet he was absolutely fine!!!!! I love my little puppy 😊)

Once a cat I had was hit by a car. When we eventually found him we thought he'd broken his leg and strapped it up whilst getting to vet. It wasn't broken but paralysed. Our options were euthanasia, amputation or steroids for 6 weeks. We chose the steroids, and it worked. No probs running around happy afterwards

One time my dog had an allergic reaction to a medicine and his face swelled up and he could hardly breathe

You can also induce vomiting in a dog by making it swallow hydrogen peroxide. Check a vet for the amount allowed for your dog size. Then, take it outside and walk it until it vomits. I did this for my pup when it swallowed ibuprofen and it saved his life.

Very informative

If you have a sick pet that wont eat or drink, and you can't get too the vet for a reason, take a glass, put water in it, then put just a little bit of salt, two tee spoons of sugar (three soup spoons for a liter), a little bit of lemon juice, and finally a little bit of backing soda in it. then give it too your pet with the help of a syringe. The amount depends on the pet, if it's a cat, then fill like one or two spoons with it and then fill the syringe. If it's a dog, it needs more. This saved my cats life :)

I once found a deer hit by a truck and left on the side of the street, she was dead but apparently pregnant. Even while dead, ber baby managed to squeeze itself out and wasn't breathing, so I tried to save him. I performed CPR on him not even knowing if I did it rigbt, but sure enough he breathed and made sweet little baby cries. I felt sad however because his mom wasn't there for him, so I stayed with him and got on my hands and feet, hoping he would learn to stand up like that. He eventually did, and I found a herd of deer that he scampered over too and was accepted by a doe!

Once my dog saw a goose outside and I live next to a lake and at that point it was low tide so the goose went flying right on the lake and my dog fifi Chihuahua❤went running after that goose through all the mud and came back as a mud dog.
