6 Ways Halston Revolutionized Fashion

Halston and Fashion: One of the most influencial american fashion designers of the 70s, his designs transcended decades.
His most famous designs, like the ultrasuede shirtdress, the sculptural dresses and kaftans defined the minimalist fashion of that period. He created classic and timeless pieces that we can actually wear today.
In this video, we'll dive into the 6 ways Halston Revolutionized Fashion. From haute couture to JCPenney, this man has done it all.
Let me know in the comments below what's your favorite design from Halston, and which one you think should stay in the 70s!

Great video! So many people only remember Halston as a jet-setting regular at Studio 54 and aren't aware of how much he contributed to a true American style. It's very rare that a designer's work becomes timeless and can be worn at any time......his designs transcends the decades. He was truly a genius and the ultimate American designer!

That's it! It was definitely Halston vs YSL during the Battle of Versailles, much in the same way that it would've been Oscar de la Renta vs Givenchy on the same battle

He along with Yves St. Laurent were Civil Rights Workers in their own way since they Hired Women Of Color for their Shows. Pat Cleveland who would later work as a Fashion Consultant for various African American Magazines most notably Ebony. When he spoke he tried to mimic Diana Vreeland! Boy oh Boy! I was 7 and already aware of Halston! At 13 I was admiring the bathroom tiles Ads of Gianni Versace! Fun fact: My brother in low bought them to isolate, for hygienic reasons, the space where he filters Honey of his bees: He's a semi-professional beekeeper, but his Honey quality is at Gianni Versace level of perfection! ( forget Michael Kors Times, I m talking about the 70s...)

Sorry to say that, but Kaftan wasn't invented by him, it's actually a traditional African dress, he just made it fashionable in the USA. Besides that, Halston was a Revolutionary Fahion Designer and you made a good job with this video! Loving it!

Tom Ford referenced Halson when he designed Gucci's Fall/Winter 1996 collection. Tom did a great job at Gucci, but for his second job at YSL, which was still good, I think he should've worked at Halston instead. One can only imagine what the Halston brand would be like today had Tom Ford or Karl Lagerfeld became the creative director. Some models seen in this video are Pat Cleveland, Alva Chinn, Anjelica Huston, Karen Bjornson, Connie Cook and Pat/Patricia Ast (the plus-size model); known as the "Halstonettes."

More geniuses needs to learn from halston. He sold his name, lived life too free and in the end those two things claimed his life. When you’re trying to make it and do make it remain focused on your goals, disassociate with anything dodgy, sketchy or unsafe in any way, develop and maintain healthy habits and for the love of god never loose sight of your vision due to glitz and glamour.

If he wasn't been so messed up he could have easily become another Calvin Klein or - even- Giorgio Armani. Besides that, his Tragedy is that all his archive was destroyed, so his innovative experiments are lost forever: that's a pity! Even Lagerfeld, always looking foreword, and forgetful about his previous collection, wouldn't have been pleased if his testimony would be utterly annihilated...Wouldn't he?
