6 Things To Know About TEL AVIV

*I made this video 3 years ago, but only shared it to Facebook...so I wanted to post it for all you guys here on KZread! Please excuse the fast paced editing and shaky camera -- I was a newbie back then*
Hello from Israel/Palestine!
This was the very first destination that I visited overseas back in 2009, as a freshman in college. It's crazy to be back, 113 countries later, with fresh eyes and new perspectives.
Tel Aviv has changed A LOT from what I remember... I see loads more skyscrapers, electric scooters, trendy cafes and (unfortunately) skyrocketing prices (seriously, it's like Paris prices... think $8 for a coffee)
Here are 6 more of my observations from the last 2 days exploring Tel Aviv.
Have you ever been to Tel Aviv? Do you agree with my thoughts?

Tel Aviv is a very diverse city and it's one of the things I like about it. I'm Filipino but I lived in TLV for a year. I loved trying different kinds of food from Jewish diaspora -- Yemeni, Iraqi (sabich!), Iranian (ghormeh sabzi that tastes the same as what you'd have in Iran), Moroccan, Libyan, Bukharan, Ashkenazi American, Ethiopian, Syrian, Kurdish, Venezuelan etc. I didn't realize how diverse the Jewish community is. Palestinian food is also delicious (maqluba, mansaf, knafeh are my faves) as well as food by the local Druze community. There is also a large migrant worker and asylum seeker population so you'd find food from all over the world. Some areas in Tel Aviv Central Bus Station feels like the Philippines.

Tel Aviv doesn't quite have NO history. It contains Jaffa, which is historic (and there's an archaeological site at that museum in the north).
If you visit Tel Aviv, be sure to also check out Jaffa, right to the south! Tel Aviv started out as a suburb of Jaffa, and Old Jaffa feels like the Old City of Jerusalem by the sea.

There are two Circassians towns or you could just call it a village because it's really not that big in Northern Israel. Most Circassians do national military service just like their secular Jewish counterparts, I think many male circassians are employed in Police department (i'm also a policeman and personally know 2 Circassian Policemen who I initially thought were Ashkenazim😅) and although their numbers are small (only about 5K), they're generally well perceived here.

@@arieltrajtenberg478 That is hilarious; years ago I was working as a Prosecutor in Israel in Northern District. A very nice Police Investigator, with whom I worked on several cases, was soft spoken, super-sharp and a real pleasure to work with. He had the most stereotyped Ashkenazi look to him. Like if you mingle with Israelis of Ashkenazi background, you've seen this guy over and over. So Shavu'ot (Feast of Weeks-Jewish Festival) was approaching. and I asked him (in Hebrew) what his plans were for the holiday. he just laughed with a huge smile and said "Ani lo Yehudi, ani Cherkessi" "I'm not a Jew, I'm Circassian;" Very much like your anecdote. I think the Israeli Circassians laugh and go through that frequently.
If i see this slap chop ad again, im gonna find out where this guy lives, make a visit and then slap my troubles away

I already consulted the Israel embassy in Singapore , they said that we Malaysians can actually apply visitor (B2) visa to visit Israel . 😆
Tel aviv doesn't lack history at all! Alot of buildings were used in 1948 by the haganah, Lechi, and irgun as bases, storage houses, etc. You just need to know where to look. If you're talking about ancient biblical history that's abit harder to find but there are burial caves
Lovely bro
Israel the chosen country of God. They are the blessed people. So no doubt that they are advanced,.modern, developed and educated. Wish they get back their land soon from Palestine.

I'm a Christian actually. But as I believe in God Yahweh as the father of Jesus Christ, and I believe in the old testament and practice it......I know that God has a special purpose for the Jews. And yes...... Judaea and Samaria would have to be returned to the Israelites..the Jews soon..as per the old testament of the Holy Bible, the land of Canaan is the promised land of Jews. It belongs to the generation of Isaac and it Ishmael

@@gabisampira8221 Sadly, we can't because our government banned us from visiting you're country. However, the country does allow us to visit Israel but only for religious purposes.
Please come back I’ll show you around the coat line
