This makes a lot of sense! When I was an undergrad I was studying medicine and everyday I would wake up and wish I could just stay in bed all day, get a phone call from work that my shift was cancelled, or that my class was cancelled. It was awful! I considered dropping out so many times because I was so annoyed of doing the same things everyday. I had an epiphany one day and realized that I was doing everything all wrong! I changed my major and realized my love for Bio was being put in the wrong place and for the past 4 years I’ve woken up happy and excited to start my day! Thanks for sharing! I’ve been enjoying your content a lot!

Yes I do. I wake up every morning not wanting to live anymore. I'm tired of hearing people say oh you're so handsome or oh you're so kind oh you're so generous etc etc but at the same time it's like my brain and my mind are obviously two different entities, and the Brain chemical misfires tend to win the battle every time😢

I have the same morning anxiety. I know it will lessen as the day goes on , but it is hell and ruins whole day I'm by myself and lonely. Sometimes I get sick. Then I'm tired by the time I get my head half in order. Just doing small things seem like so much! Worst thing ever!

I’m watching a few of these vids. Encouraging to realize I’m already in a habit of doing most of the MM steps and know I enjoy them. What’s hard is that for the first 30 years of my life and intermittently for another 5 to 10, I’d wake up immediately and bright eyed at 5am, sometimes 4:30, and be ready to go. I LOVE mornings. I was enthusiastic for whatever it was I wanted to do, even if it was just tea and reading. But now I slowly crawl to consciousness, reluctantly, and once I’m up I just look around and don’t WANT to do anything. Don’t want any of it. Hopeless. I just moved (where I’ve longed to be) and finally in my own space with my belongings around me (it’s been years of living with a parent - basically camping out in a corner of a room - with everything in storage), new job (good job albeit boring) and yet I’m more and more demoralized. More and more hopeless. But what’s hardest is that i’m a morning person and still accustomed to waking enthused and happy and something - don’t know what - has taken that from me. Just getting back in to a routine (sleep and wake when I know I want to) has changed nothing. Got up this morning, drink, sofa with a book, and stared at the wall. Finally came back to bed. Yet around 3 pm I suddenly get up and get in to a project only to realize I don’t know why I’m suddenly ready - it’s certainly not by choice - and really resent that it’s not 5 am and by choice, when I’ve always felt great getting in to my projects. Just don’t know what’s wrong, and I’m resentful. So frustrating.

One of the solutions for me was to stop drinking alcohol. After I stopped drinking, my morning depression went away. After not drinking for 3 weeks, I drank again one night and BOOM my morning depression was back! I realized that alcohol really messes with my brain, so I'm determined to stay sober most of the time and be VERY selective about drinking in the future.

But it is back in the next morning so I have to remember to pray at each start of the day. Maybe it is just a reminder for me to pray. I feel much better and a good start to the day. Because I think it is making a change in my brain as I keep doing this and turning it into a habit.

Since I've started my new job last Monday I have to go to the toilet every morning (apart from my days off) as soon as I wake up, I don't know if I have morning Depression and anxiety but when I started this job I felt really upset and isolated from my former job group and friends (as they are on the other side of the place where I work now)- I mean I still see then everyday as we still work in the same place but I don't really interact with them that much since we are on different sides now). And I also think another factor is that I have to get up at 6am now where when I was on their side I was getting into work for 9.45am, and I don't really know my fixed rota yet so I don't know when my days off are (on the other side- they did the rotas a month in advance so I could see when I was working and not). Everyone is saying stick it out until June when my probation period ends and then if you don't like it just leave but I'm still going to have a look at other jobs in the mean time. It's a big jump from casual crew (Zero hours) (picking when you can come in and getting lots of days off so you can plan) to full term- 39 hours a week (I think one week I don't get any days off and another I get 4), doing a 7 and a 3 I think when the official rota for me are signed off. I mean my Xmas days off this week don't even started until Xmas Eve midday as they have asked me to come in for a couple of hours on Saturday (which is my day off)- I've got boxing day off though so that's good but it would have been nice to have a 3 day Xmas weekend.

@@zandarzandarevic5466 yeah there has been a significant improvement in my morning thoughts. And the reason behind that, I have started planning my next day schedule before goieto bed so that is the first thought comes into my mind in morning and it doesn't left any empty space for negative thoughts. Additionally I have also started reading self improvement books, they are quite helpful

@@nickturnbull4105 just wondering how you’re doing 3 months later. I hope it’s better. I think I understand the way you feel. Me, too! I’m an older person, 66, and so tired. I don’t feel suicidal at all. Certainly don’t want to hurt myself or my friends/family/pets by “checking out”, but I’m very familiar with that feeling of wishing to pass away quietly in my sleep. But, so far, I’m still here, so I choose to believe there’s a reason. There must be a reason for you, too. 😊even though we may not see it.

It’s weirdly reassuring knowing I am not the only one who experiences this. I wake up in panic mode because a lot of my personal stresses are out of my hands unfortunately. Prayer really helps me get my head in the right place.
