6 Signs Someone is Secretly Insecure

Insecurity is a feeling of inadequacy, lack of self-confidence, and inability to cope, accompanied by general uncertainty and anxiety about one’s goals, abilities, or relationships with others. Most of us are painfully aware of our insecurities but avoid sharing them because doing so forces us to confront them and opens up the possibility of people reminding us of them. While we don’t often openly share our insecurities, they can manifest through subtle signs in our behavior. So, here are a few signs someone is secretly insecure.
If you relate to this video and would like to learn how to be confident, we have a video on the things confident people avoid doing: • 7 Things CONFIDENT Peo...

How to overcome these traits: 1. Avoid self-comparison because everyone is unique in their own way. 2. YOU are your only competition, be better than the best you have ever been. 3. Learn to accept criticisms healthily as a way to improve yourself because YOU CAN. 4. Love yourself just as who you are, if you love yourself 20% and somebody gives you 30% that's not even half. You need to love you 100% and the rest will carry on. 5. You won't get a brighter life by blowing other people's candles. LET'S NOT GOSSIP IT'S UNHEALTHY. 6. Strive for greatness but at the same time, be humble. "Keep your head held high, but your feet glued on the ground."

I've had my share of being friends with insecure people too and it's even caused me to be insecure. They judge people, pick on people, gossip and such. I noticed that insecure people check on their flaws and then project it on others. The cycle just continues. I'm more confident. I've stopped texting those friends. If you are struggling with confidence here are some tips! -don't obsess over the mirror -if you know you're insecure don't think that is going to help you in life to be hard on yourself. I know that I used to think so but really it was just ruining my mental health -stop watching negative videos. Some videos point of every wrong and right in others. They dive into drama and that isn't healthy for you. -gEt a liFe. No seriously. Find some hobbies. Get off your phone for a day. Enjoy the outside (in your backyard ig) just remember that you're the only one who is going to travel with you through life, so be kind to yourself. -refrain from using self-deprecation jokes. Instead joke how you're an absolute queen/king and how you're beauty makes your mirror obsessed with you LOL not in a narcissistic way but in a joking manner -look on the bright side of life -allow yourself to cry. You will feel better after. Have a good day everyone! 💕🌿💙

I have become very aware of my insecurities, I don’t like to express them because I don’t want to bring others into my big little issues, it can be draining for others to listen to or understand or help. It can also lead others to feel sad, confused or insecure too. And it can take a long time for me to remember how to handle them securely. I think when you recognize that insecurity can lead to some of these behaviours that you actually don’t like, that’s a good thing. I know to never put others down because it’s not fair and it comes from a place in you that isn’t helpful. All you’re doing is deflecting and not healing yourself. I don’t know if I put myself down in front of others to get validation, it mostly just my way of expressing not feeling great atm. Since sometimes you really can’t hear people’s kindness. In the end if you catch yourself feeling like this just know that every insecurity has its own answer of relief.

This is so me. I keep trying to improve but people shun me for being needy... none of my associates even try to understand, they just laugh and tell me not to be needy and gloomy. No wonder i decided that 2021 was time for a fresh start where I cut out everyone who did that (meaning I’m now alone 😟. It’s just less painful but does mean I can start to rebuild without their negative drag). A lifetime of being “the nice one” while being abused and used all with no reward other than being allowed to be in their company.... it’s taken me a while but I now see what they are doing and have had enough.

Insecure people often use criticism of others as a way to feel better about themselves. See, people who are insecure consistently feel bad about themselves. And often, they don't know how to feel better in a healthy or productive way. So they often resort to criticizing others👍

They may not always get angry when you give constructive criticism. They'll dismiss it entirely. My sister was writing a book and had me reading over it as her editor, since I've put a lot of study into story writing, I thought I'd be able to give her some pretty good tips. Anything I'd suggest that she rework she'd always say, "that's exactly what it is, see, I did it just fine" when it didn't convey it right or "yeah, that happens later in the story" when it needed to happen earlier. Once I told her that her plot needed some revising and she said, "oh, I already worked it out completely."even though it still needed revising. I just kinda stopped because she was refusing to listen, and it was pointless to reason with her.

I’m definitely insecure about some things but I clicked on this video because of a really toxic ex-friend. I had a feeling they were actually lashing out because of insecurity and now I think that’s the truth. I feel bad for them but I don’t think I could be friends again after what they put me through. It’s emotionally exhausting to deal with someone who exhibits all of the behaviors listed in this video. I just wish I could have helped them better, but they wouldn’t listen. I wish them the best.

I basically have all of these signs, almost exactly. Apart from spreading rumors/talking bad about others behind their back, that’s other people’s job not mine. But I always feel terrible at the end of the day when I feel I went too harsh and don’t know how to apologize for it or if it even was insensitive. I act like this in school, loving to boast and put down others (jokingly, I hope they don’t take it seriously).

Hi! I have a question: When you know that someone is secretly insecure and they have all of these signs, how do I as a friend help them overcome that? Is it possible? I have tried being there for them, complimenting them, loving them unconditionally, but it doesn't seem to change anything or make them feel better about themselves in any way. Any advice? :)

  • @dragondiana8

There is one more insecurity I noticed 'cause of my friend. I noticed that my friend, althought she doesn't like crowds and is not going to big events often and don't have that many friends and is shy... when she is in a new situation with people she doesn't know then she gets a "feature" and then she is like cheerful, chipper and "full of beans" and jabbers a lot, even in a conversation she has no traffic with it and no idea about it and even says some things where I'm like "omg, no" in my head when she suddendly exaggerates with conjectures, prejudgments and other things, which aren't that necessary. So this was one situation back in the last year. But I noticed it generally at her that she can be really extremly communicative with people she doesn't know, even though she isn't that confident in front of new people. So really the opposite.
