I've been a Studio One user for 4 years and still there is always something new and useful in Gregory's videos. Gregory's videos are always helpful and one great reason to use Studio One. Thank you !

Gregor, I just learned the chase long notes thing from you a few days ago. I've thought that having to start at the beginning of midi notes was just a something you had to do with midi, it has annoyed me for so many years! Especially annoying when you have some really long notes! This is such a quality of life option, and why it's not on by default makes no sense. Thank you, Gregor. ❤
Studio One is awesome and Having Gregor and Joe teaching me how to use it is absolutely amazing! Thanks again and Happy Holidays to you all!

Absolutely love the midi editing macros... couldn't live without them.
Thanks so much Gregory. I have all your notes down BEFORE receiving my software. I know they'll be a HUGE HELP!.
Awesome tips as usual. Now we „only“ need a Session/Clip view. I just don’t want to use Ableton anymore just so I can jam or play live. It’s just not cutting the cheese
Excellent video - thanks again, Gregor!
Thank you for the awesome video! I love how you regularly review tips and tricks that we might have missed/not understood the first time around. These videos are fire. 🔥🔥🔥

Thank you for all those tips. I work a lot with the piano roll and scale lock, very useful. But please, could Presonnus add all the modes to it ? I miss so much the lydian (and I would also be glad to have the locrian...). Also it would be great to have a way of selecting all the midi after or before the cursor more easily (I know those fonctions exist and I did a macro for that but it's not very user friendly because each time I select it, my cursor jumps to the end or the beginning of the midi, which is quite annoying when you just want to move a part.)
wow do I feel stupid. I have been on here a few times talking trash about studio one. Studio one 4 was really irritating me. I bought studio one 6 and boy do I owe you guys an apology. I'm just starting to dive in and I'm all smiles. I knew you guys had it in you. Apologies.

In piano roll the arrow tool is more usable for me than paint tool , but i have some issue with it , so is there any way to change double press to make new note with one press ! This will make a big difference for me Thanks
How are the different pitch notes different colors? Mine are always the same color. Nice video, thanks for the info.
I wish there were things like: Box select splitting. Extend note to next note. If u watch some of the videos about fast midi editing in FL, you will see a lot of extremely handy and practical functions, which are missing in S1.

ahh, you helped me (i am a S1-Starter) to solve a Problem. I wondered why all my changes on an Impact-Event would affect every single copy of it. I am not sure why my copys were all Ghostcopys... I used the D - Shortcut. It did only happen with impact..... but now i saw that small symbol and was able to find the undo for it... Alt-C. Thx
Gregor, what is the PC equivalent of the command option trick for streamlining midi note editing?
Is there a way to preview a note much longer than a half a second and in a more sustained manner ?
is it possible to generate automatic chords?
Jai ho Gregor.

Hi. MIDI Events not recording on the 1 down beat. Pitch bend data dissappears..When will you fix that...For such a popular DAW I thought this at least works?
Ghost Copy = Brilliant!
Hi Gregor, Thanks for all your great videos. My question is how do you "unghost" copied parts. Sometimes when I copy or duplicate a part, I don't want them to mirror. My setup does the mirroring by default, and I don't know how to unlink them or change the default.
@presonus
7 ай бұрын
Hi, pressing G should remove the shared duplicate (Ghost Icon) on the selected Event region. Please make sure that the grid is not activated when you do so (N key), unless you want to extend the selected Event region to the Bar boundaries. Hope this helps. -GBY
Like your channel...When is Studio One gonna get Ai mastering? Like logic pro... Really missing this feature...please advise!
Nice
"Select all related/copied Shared Events" option: On the MIDI track I have Shared Events, but several versions. They are all marked with a "ghost". But how to mark related events of one type, for example to change their name and color? If I have 70 Shared Events on drum tracks, in 5 different versions, all have the same color, now there is no chance to find each version among them, to color them and rename each version :( After right-clicking on the Event, there should be an option "Select all related/copied Shared Events" so that you can edit all selected ones. Unless it's an Event that has no other Events associated with it. StudioOne needs to know which events are related (via Shift+D and the "ghost" icon in the lower left corner of the event), so just program the option to select them all on the TimeLine, please :)

@@presonus I submitted the idea once and am waiting :) Previously I worked on FL Studio and there was such a function, which I often used. I miss it very much in Studio One.
Guys I have an issue and I need help. I want to be able to lock the scale and still have the white and black keys remain the same without changing positions. This helps me to understand more about music theory. I have been using studio one since 2018 and don't know which version came with this change. There are some people who don't know any music theory at all, and some who know a little and want to step up. So at least there should be a function to disable notes in a scale showing in white and those not in scale in black. this fraustrate me.Up until Studio One 5.5.2 it was Ok, I checked it. Presonus come on.
Studio One is the best DAW because it can do pretty much all what you want to do as far as midi and audio editing is concerned.

Hi Gregor, I have downloaded the colour scheme and put it in the colour scheme folder just under default, however it doesn't show up when I try to load a preset in appearances. Am I missing something?

It should show up then as a Preset under "Appearances" inside of the Preferences. Hope this helps. -GBY
Gregor, why is a mono track 3 db higher when you route a mono to a stereo bus. You will see that the stereo bus is 3 db lower than the mono track. If i convert the mono track to stereo, only then do the volumes match. And i didnt have any plugins on them. Please help. Am i suppose to be converting all mono tracks to stereo and than start mixing? It confuses me when im trying to balance my tracks because i see one thing on the mono track but something different on the stereo bus.
@presonus
7 ай бұрын
Hi, this is due to the pan law. When a signal is panned centrally, the same signal will be output (identically) on both the left and right channels. If you were to pan this signal from the extreme left channel through the centre and then onto the extreme right channel, it will sound as if the level rises as it passes through the centre. The panning law was integrated to introduce a 3dB level drop at the centre. -GBY

@@presonus So when I'm doing gain staging and I'm going for -12db gain stage, do I gain stage the stereo tracks to -12 db and the mono tracks to -9 db so the the mono track show -12 db in the stereo bus because of the 3 db difference?
Does the ghost copy work if youve bounced midi to audio? And if you have recorded a guitar, can you ghost copy the audio file?
@presonus
7 ай бұрын
Hi, bounced MIDI events will no longer be ghost copies after you have bounced them to Audio. However, you can merge multiple Audio Events as an "Audio Part" by pressing G on your keyboard. These can then be duplicated as Ghost Copies, and it works in the same way it does with MIDI events. If you do so, all changes made to Audio Events within that merged "Audio Part" will be reflected on all other Audio Part Ghost Copies as well. Hope that makes sense. -GBY

Please Gregor can you do video on how to transfer midi notes from one track to another track? My humble request.
@chichogp

Not sure what you mean by transfer, but pressing alt (option on mac) and dragging means 'duplicate'. So if you drag a midi event from one track to another while pressing alt you can do what you're asking (I think).

Gregor did a 10minutes video October 2019 titled " Studio One Tutorial EP. 18: Macros" in this video he created some chords and used macros to select only the lowest notes which he then transferred to another track as his baseline. Please if you can watch the video especially from the last 3minutes to the end you see what I'm talking about. Thank you
