Show Notes:
Most Crohn's IBD physicians, specialists, and gastroenterologists are focused on ordering tests, and prescribing medication (prednisone, mesalamine, steroids, biologics). But there are several areas which are commonly overlooked and these mistakes can cause inflammation to increase over time, without resolution
1. Ignoring Bowel Movements- Can you see the blood and/or mucus in your stool? Thats from the bowel inflammation. Believe it, or not, my clients send me daily pictures of their poop so I can look at them in real time. Mucosa Associated Lymphatic Tissue (MALT), spleen, liver, Aero-Digestive tract- contains 80% of the body's immune system. American Gut Project- Top Tier Research Universities are able to predict autoimmune inflammation, exacerbation, and Crohn's disease severity, based on the type of bacteria in the stool. Gut microbiome optimization therefore is very important. Frequent regular bowel movements are desirable to prevent inflammation in IBD and Crohn's. Otherwise you get overgrowth of bacteria, sometimes called SIBO, or IMO if the bacterial produce methane. These bacteria cause the intestinal permeability to increase, result in leaky gut. There are tests you can do for SIBO, IMO, methane production, and Zonulin metabolites for leaky gut. C difficile colitis, also called clostridium bacteria, is another type of opportunistic infection from bacterial overgrowth. You can also get overgrowth of funguses such as Candida, which results in histamine intolerance and worsening eosinophils levels seen in Crohn's disease.
2. Too much sugar, processed foods. There are several concurrent biochemical pathways of inflammation that get activated in Crohn's disease. Reactive oxygen species, oxidative damage. Fatty acid synthase (FAS), hormone-sensitive lipase (HSL), and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPAR-γ), nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) dysregulation. If you avoid these foods, you can activate protective pathways, that are anti-inflammatory in nature. These include NADPH oxidase and xanthine oxidase, superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase, and glutathione peroxidase (GPx)
3. Deficiency in Phytonutrients- Long term paleo, carnivore, Atkins, weight watchers diets can be deficient in plant base micronutrients. This is particularly harmful for Crohn's disease
4. Ignoring stress and trauma- Stress increases inflammation and causes inflammatory bowel disease to worsen
5. Poor Sleep- Can lead to exacerbations in Crohn's disease
6. Sedentary Lifestyle- Can make fatigue worse, and increase bowel inflammation

So should go every day? What about those of us who go seven or eight times a day? What if we never produce a "stool"? In other words its nothing but water? Ignore your stool? What stool?

Try to eat a full bowl of fresh bitter greens like arugula with extra virgin olive oil drizzled and organic balsamic vinegar. 80 percent to 20 percent oil to vinegar. For protein cut up a couple of hard boiled eggs on top and a can of tuna fish. Avoid vegetable oils of any kind. (Omega 3 only stone cold pressed oils). Thus grape seed, eVoO, walnut, almond or coconut oil. Hemp, corn, soybean, canola should all be banned as they are superheated lab inventions by psycho scientists unknown to our digestive tract as a enemy to be sweeped out of our system.

It can lead to some of these symptoms. Headaches, joint pain, brain fog etc. Any of those uncontrolled can cause more problems elsewhere as well.
