I believe it is relitive to it's "main" shell (the one that is set as default when you unlock the tank)
The reason why the PG-02's 3000 to 450 is because. Both the Historians and Gameplayers. Of WT at least for Japan were having arguments whenever it should just be left the way it is or not. So Gaijin decided just to do both.

The F-100f also Only has chaf
I KNEW IT! I've been looking at Russian MBTs for years thinking, "is the barrel angled down? I can't quite tell," and now I know the truth. Is this the case for some Chinese ones as well? I sometimes get the same sense whilst staring at the Type 96 and 99.
00:20 The F-105 carries countermeasure pods too, those can only carry Chaff as well
2:42 Not only that, but if you fire without power and turn on your engine, getting some battery power, in the last few seconds of the reload, you can hear the autloader properly working again, this also happens when you don't have ammo inside the autoloader, as soon as the reload count reaches that 7.1s mark, the autoloader will restart.
The F-14's asymmetric thrust nozzles are because of a quirk in it's design. There are two hydraulic systems in the F-14 and each is powered by one of the F-14's two engines. By default, if the plane is on the ground and there is thus "weight on wheels", the thrust nozzles default to opening fully to reduce exhaust speeds and lessen the effect on ground crew that have to walk behind the engines. When weight is off the wheels (as in when the plane is airborne), the thrust nozzles default to the closed position for improved thrust, only opening when the afterburner is engaged. They also default to the closed position when there is an electrical system failure to ensure that you have thrust as if you were airborne whilst the controls revert to old fashioned hydraulic manual leverage. The right side engine should be shut down first and so that engine defaults to the closed position. Then hydraulic power is lost when the left side engine is shut down, so that nozzle stays in the weight-on-wheels open position. This can then be adjusted, if needed, by ground crew once both engines are offline and presumably after they've cooled down.

Your knowledge is underappreciated
Oh man the F-14 jet exhaust... OH MAN. Another thing I can't unsee now is the Radkampfwagen 90 not having driver optics at all. This is apparently accurate to the real vehicle, posted about it yesterday in the WT Subreddit

@@Jan_372 according to the reddit guys that answered me, being only a prototype, it was intended to drive with the hatch open, the driver would just close it when he wasn't driving. The production vehicle would've had an actual periscope, most likely.

Funny you mention weight of ammo, the 40mm vickers hurricane handles significantly better after all your ammo is gone…
@jucaesar4961

Because the ammo is quite far from the roll axis, it has a very profound effect on its moment of inertia. Similar to an ice skater taking the arms from far out to close to the body when initiating a spin.
The Mikulin M17 engine that powers the KV-1 is a license-built BMW VI engine as found on the 1.0 Do17 as well as the german Reserve biplanes. For many planes, the automatic engine control will not open the radiators at all during WEP, and using manual engine control is much more effective. A great example is the Ki-61-II Otsu Kai. Usually, you can't stay on WEP for more than 30secs-1min as it will overheat, but even with the radiator at just 20-30% on a cold map, you can WEP for the entire battle granting you an extra 200hp-ish. This also applies to the Bf110s and many bombers for example.
5:13 - just a guess, are the shells coming out of different length barrels/different gun systems? They might have different muzzle velocities and thus different penetration values
@AboutThunder
Жыл бұрын
Both USS Pittsburg and USS Cleveland are equipped with 5 inch/38 Mk.12 AA guns with the exact same muzzle velocity
5:43 Repairing damaged t-34's with different roadwheels was actually very common during ww2, cause the tank was manufactured by several different factories, some even had slightly different turret shapes and armor thickness. Also they are interchangeable between t-34, 44 and 54/55. When the production of the t-34 ended, many tanks that were still operational untill the 60's had their wheels and tracks replaced by those from the t-55.
@LeadHeadBOD
Жыл бұрын
All production models of T-34 used christie suspension, whereas all Soviet and modern Russia's main battle tanks from T-44 onwards use torsion bars, how are they even remotely interchangeable? One has vertical springs across the entire height of the side armour, the other has bars across the floor. The road wheels are also not entirely interchangeable, they are the same diameter, but wider on the T-54.
Thing about F-104S-ASA RWR is it's realistic so it will never change

I never implied that it was ahistorical, just that people were confused by it because it was unintuitive
If you zoom in into a vehicle in the hangar, the more you zoom the more blurred the background gets
You forgot about the F-105D. It also only carries chaff for countermeasures.
The thickness of the armour in the shell icon usually represents it's effectiveness at that tier + compared to other shells available
3:24 I’m having a seizure looking at this Mig-23 in US NAVY painting
torpedoes is the same as tanks and planes, cant kill friendly tanks with tanks, but can kill friendly tanks with planes
I grew to inherently believe that: Fully Upgraded/Capable Aircraft = Spade *BECAUSE* Fully Capable Pilot = Ace They were just trying to stay linear with their reasoning lol
Fun fact I found out about the Alecto: if you turn while going a decent speed you have a chance of clipping and falling out of the world done it a few times myself in a Test Drive. 😂
C202 has an assymetrical longer wing to counter prop drag. as an Italian plane fan when i found this out i felt like my life was horrible but i then learned it was a cheap but effective way to make long distance flights more enjoyable
Last i heard the asa has a simple rwr system unlike the directional rwr others have

It takes its receiver off of the ECM unit.
the class 3 p also get's smoke grenades when stock. it just gets a upgrade when you unlock the mod
M.B.175T is a truly lovely plane to have and fly, but that radar and extra crew-member just makes my brain hurt.
5:13 That's supposed to represent that the Cleveland probably has a better shell, thus having an icon with thicker armor.
2:00 Friendly fire only occur between planes vs tanks/ships unless you play simulator in which there is full friendly fire
4:28 the LAV-AD also comes stock with smoke launchers, it just doesn't have a researchable modification. every merkava is also like the Mk.4M except the Mk.1, which does not come stock with smoke launchers, and must research them. there are likely other tanks like this as well
@miniraptor3211
Жыл бұрын
The same exists for the TH800 event vehicle. You get a small, single grenade launcher stock but have to research the side ones with a set of 6
I was looking back at the vehicles in my hangar and noticed I didn't have the M1A2 Sherman wasn't fully molded and the smoke grenades weren't researched. Is that a new mod? I don't know how I would have missed that.
I'm well aware of fires resetting reloading progress. Been in too many painful situations.
Historically accurate F-14 TOMCAT isn't real, it can't hurt you. Historically accurate F-14 TOMCAT:
3:36 actually the laser rangefinder on missile spaas is quite useful and it gives you the ability to see range and speed even when you lock on via irst
F105 also only has chaff and can also bomb at supersonic
When I was depressed, my barrel worked exactly like that one in the thumbnail
I actually remember the term "spaded" came around before gaijin put it in the picture
0:45, this happened to me in a B18A, one eng was dead, second one damaged and i was loosing speed and alt. Then I tried to shoot All my front cannon ammo and it helped to get me to airfield
5:14 the thickness of the armoe is related to how much your other shells penetrate.
you want to know what is annoying about the t74 since it only has 6 degrees of gun depression if you tilt the hull forwards it should give you a few more degrees of depression but it doesn’t the gun caps at a 6 degrees or(where it would be if the hull wasn’t tilted).
0:20 the chaff pod on the F105 can only carry chaffs as well
Also for the spades in modifications it shows a spade
0:22 There are 2; iirc, the F-105D only got a chaff pod too
*_The last one blew my mind_* 🤯😳
4:52 that's an ecm pod and not a countermeasures pod, so it makes sense that they don't come stock
Great video keep them coming
Warthunder fact: the british harrier gr1s interior cockpit in warthunder has a countermeasures dash on the left hand side behind the throttle although it doesnt get counter measures
My barrel looks like that too when i have extra depression
The thumbnail really does show what it was like after a month of playing
I appreciate the effort you guys put in the videos!
I think some of the swedish rocket tank destroyers also come with stock smoke
when i heard the 'eh?' early on, i knew he was from canade
4:56 The MiG-21bis-SAU has an electronic countermeasure pod that cannot dispense chaff or flares
Fun fact: the tabk with the mist gun depression in war thunder is the VT1-2 Even though it only has 10° of depression
Iirc, the Challenger 2 (2F) has smoke grenades stock but not any of the other Challenger 2s.
It worked! Tank you sir.
3:31 most questionable is a crew replacement in two maned vehicles, because you will just get killed even though you still have one
The Merkava and Sarc aren't the only ones with stock smoke, the Class 3p does as well.
I have about 4000 Hours in the game. Almost all of those details I did not notice. Very good video
4:43 the IS-2s smoke grenade is called "BDSh" instead of just smoke greande
On the American Tbf avenger in rank ll it says there is 3 crew but 4 are modeled in xray
Reminds me of that weird USPS skin for CSGO
Ive been complaing about that radar since that french plane came out!
The F-105 can also only carry chaff. Other notes, although I refer to it as spaded, I imagine Gaijin intended for it to be called “Aced” which would make more sense. Also I never quite got why a Chi-Ri is the tank in the NVD icon
How do you switch between flares and chaff? Thanks
At the thumbnail: " it's nervous because it's his first time" 😏
The funniest bit about the A-32A's countermeasures pod is that allegedly there is only one plane that carries missiles that they can affect - the Sparrows on the Demon.
@einar8019
Жыл бұрын
nah the funniest bit is that it should have over 400 chaff per pod but only gets 16 per pod ingame
Extra Depression is a pretty good summary of War Thunder tbh
3:11 The F-5C Premium also can have a negative climb rate (I dunno bout other nations other than Americas)
Fun fact that Challenger 2F gets smoke stock
When talking about chaff you forgot about F-105D chaff pod
The new Harrier GR7 can have a completely unarmed loadout too
The pbj also has a radar ball on the right wing.
the class 3p also has stock smoke launchers
Also the nvd tank image is chi-ri II for some reason
0:24 Same for F105D ASA's RWR isnt a bug, it's a limitation of WT sound design. With good soundmods, you can "fix" that. F14 nozzles ; it's because the shutdown procedure favors 1 engine and the other, when the last one shuts, there's not enough hydraulic pressure to close it Negative climbrate doesnt mean it cant take off, it just mean that it cant gain speed while gaining altitude, you simply cant do both at the same time. But you'll still be able to gain altitude by trading speed 4:00 You can scout the train on Flanders and US desert 4:36 this is the opposite, stock you get the mortar (fired by TC) and modules gives external dispensers 5:16 It's different to show the relative power compared to what the ship can also bring/equi^p
3:17 Right now i have 1030 Hours in war thunder and i didn't know why fully upgraded vehicles were called spaded until now xD
When I play arcade, I fire and then reload before climbing with the assumption that it will make me lighter…
Regarding fuel and flight performance, sometimes being heavier is better. When you're flying a BnZ plane, the extra fuel can allow you to store energy MUCH better. You'll fly around like you weigh more, but people do this intentionally all the time. Glider pilots have ballasts of water to intentionally retain their energy and they only lower them once they know they're done and want to glide for as far as possible or land. Having weight isn't a bad thing, in a P51 or F8U it can allow you to end up way faster out of a shorter dive than being super light
About smokes, you forgot Class 3P
THE Hangar Theme Is Back!
On the second one, the F-105 can only carry chaff too.
0:04 It's the same for Ki-83
The f105 also only has chaff pods
Thunderchief and Jaguar Gr.1 also has just chaffs
5:26 I wonder if they have galvanised square steel beams in there.
How do you use wheel brake?
"Extra depression" - exactly, from playing this wreck of a game for over 10 years because drug addiction is a real thing.
The building with a see-theough gap on sun city is actually a real building located in warsaw, poland
another fun fact, THE PE8 STILL DOESNT HAVE A PROPPER COCKPIT
the a4e early can also have a negative climb rate
Did you know that you can remake one historical event on any map that have skyscrapers?
4:20 how do u have blue afterburners?
I saw a bmp 3 disappear after getting ammo racked by a Hot atgm
F104 can throw bombs in supersonic too
how do u break and throttle up at the same time
1:34 only reason i recognize the back of the plane is coz of just cause 2 hahahaha
3:42 It doesn't tell you the rate of fire when the modification isnt installed, that's the ammo count...
0:25 F105 Thunderchief is the same
The Magach 3 have also stock smoke grenade
