Did you know there are only 6 ways to color grade in Lightroom? Here is ALL of them.
Check out TourBox here - bit.ly/2Rmw8xo
In this lightroomLightroom tips video Ed Gregory will show you 6 ways you can do color grading in Lightroom. Traditionally we don't use the term photography color grading as typically its used for video production however the concepts are the same. I have covered all 6 techniques in this Lightroom Tutorial for Color Grading your photos.
This is a Lightroom Tutorial for beginners but if you are a professional editor you may learn a few things her too. I am using Lightroom Classic CC tutorial but you can do most of these things in Lightroom CC as well.

Thanks Ed, another great video. Your videos are always very easy to understand and follow. One big problem I have with colour is calibrating my monitors so that they match the colours from when I took the picture through to when I print. I only do photography as a hobby and just starting out so I can't justify buying any colour calibration tools. Is there an effective way to do this with just using your PC? Is there any chance you could do a quick vid of how to do it? I'm sure I'm not the only person that has this problem. Thanks.
Thank you!!!

Thank you for your feedback here. It means a lot. I can see your point here however I really hope you appreciate the effort we creators put in. Our job is not to teach. We are not teachers. We are creating 100% free content. My point is not solely to teach. While I like to teach and share my knowledge I do hope my audience may also enjoy a little extra creativity. The teaching is for you the creativity is for me I just hope my sufficed appreciates this too.

Oh! That tip #2, Color Profile, is great! I didn't know about it! I'm glad you pointed out it doesn't change any of the other settings, like a preset would. Also, I've been seeing the TourBox advertised on FacBook a lot lately, and I'm really interested in it. Seems more versatile than the LoupeDeck, and takes up way less desktop space!

Any advice on using the split toning panel versus just the tone curve for a specific color? Do they achieve different effects? What if you used both in the same image?
Excellent.
Thank you...thank you...thank you!!!👏
hey man, great watching your videos, I have the latest lightroom but cant locate the layer section or the little 4 square button to get all the layer section, do you have a answer to this? thanks in advance

If you have the latest at version it should be in the let column. Try right clicking in the left column and Make sure that nodule is tuned on.
Love your videos, as ever. Of course there is another way to colour grade, and it is with Presets, either the ones supplied, the ones you can download or the ones you create and save yourself. The main problem with all of these is that you can't use masks to do this selectively.
thx good lesson

The photo of tone curve is in my city, at Paulista Avenue!!! 😊😊😊
Does anyone know how can I get my blues to look the way they do in the 'turquoise and red' preset, without putting so much red into my image?!
How do you create your own custom profiles??? I've been trying to learn but I can't find the best way.
Your Lightroom tutorials are fantastic!

Out of curiosity, where can those profiles yu had (not the Adobe-installed, but the ones you added on) be found?

@@altern8ive - Thanks. Though, I think I have either done something incorrect, or not explained myself. I have the full Preset collection--installed and everything. My question was more towards the profiles he shows on right panel in Lightroom. I have the preset profiles that came with the software. But I wan't sure if either: 1.) I did not install the presets correctly, as I have everything under presets, or; 2.) The profiles were a separate product, or; 3. ) If using either the profiles or the presets mattered as they both arrived at the same landing point (i.e. if I used a profile over it's similarly-named preset, woudl there be any benefit?) Apologies for not clarifying with my original question.
@altern8ive

ah, I see what you're saying, sorry. My VSCO's don't appear in the Profile Browser either, only the Adobe and Camera Profiles do. Whether they should or shouldn't I'm not sure but thanks for pointing this out as I will need to do a bit of my own research now in case they should be there 🙂

@@altern8ive - If you find anything, could you please pass along to me? I'd owe you one.
You can also use Filters (Radial, Graduated or even the Adjustment Brush) to edit & color grade parts of an image. You can use the temperature & tint sliders or apply a color. I use that a lot for event photos where you have different coloured lights and exposures in parts of the image. A lot of the times I do an overall color grading, but then one part of the image looks weird, so I apply a Radial Filter to that part to fix that. Or let's say in an image I only want the sky to look warm...I apply a Graduated filter to the sky.
I have Lightroom cc 2015 is there anyway to upgrade it so I can get the profile corrections
A suprisingly informative and practical tutorial. Really enjoyed watching it. : 1
ho man, i gotta say, as someone who is a noob to photography this is great, but as an enthusiast audio engineer, there is a realllly harsh frequency coming from the 800hz range in this video, which is why it sounds megaphone-y. I took it out with an EQ cut and boosted in a couple of other areas just to see what happens and it sounds so much better.
@clearlyed
5 жыл бұрын
Wow. Not that’s some awesome feedback. Thank you. I just upgraded my Audio and my latest video is the first time I used it. I’d love to hear your thoughts on it. My new mic is the sennheiser mkh-416. Seems like you have a great ear and I’d love to get your feedback.
@Laihoistheman
5 жыл бұрын
@@clearlyed that's a darn good mic, I'm surprised that there was anything kind of glaring like there was with it. Your video after seems fine and the one before it so I can't really figure out what happen in this one, but it's a pretty easy EQ cut.
Ed, will you be including the profiles you’re creating as part of an update to those who purchased the full suite of PIC Presets in the past? I haven’t seen any updates but you had advertised that any updates would be free. I know the profiles aren’t technically presets but thought I’d ask. Thanks for the videos and instruction over the years.

I hope you don't mind that I am asking but I have a problem with lightroom in my computer and I will really appreciate your help! I want to update it, but before i can to that I am asked to save my work. Is that means to save all my work to my computer, or just save them inside the program? I am not even close to finish working on all of my photographs in lightroom, so I don't want to export them, but I am terrified that if don't - all of them will be erased.

👍 Well done, Ed. Great info, clearly presented, with tips and cautions along the way. Keen one about zooming to eye whites as a white balance target. Glad you used “Color” instead of “Colour”. Almost did a dance at vid start, too. Only disappointment was your use of paper notebook instead of digital gear - what a let-down 😁. Your vids never disappoint.
