    Why not TESLA BUILT mobile charger so if semi run off charge they can charge them along the road wherever they are...Maybe they should also put solar panels on top of their trailers to charge the semi or add batteries in the trailers to augment the Semi batteries that will increase the range of the truck..

    When is mass production starting will there be a thousand on the road by the end of 2024?

    Yeah except of the fact that the Semi weighs TWICE what a diesel powered day cab tractor weighs, so you have to leave about 18,000 pounds of freight behind. And just one single charger requires one megawatt of power to operate. Good luck getting that

    what if they create a tesla trailer, which has a huge built-in battery to extend range?

    So you ever think that the answer to that question is, because it’s not needed?

  • @13thbiosphere

    @13thbiosphere

    4 ай бұрын

    In some cases it will be needed and it might be done giving a range of 2,000 Miles might be appropriate in some cases for example in cases like semi's in Africa where there is no recharging infrastructure the cost of a battery trailer might be around about $50 k the great advantage is you only need one recycling station every Thousand Miles,. Probably will be available in 2030@@theodorehaskins3756

  • @13thbiosphere

    @13thbiosphere

    4 ай бұрын

    In addition to that why not have solar panels on the trailer probably giving an extra 10% range, might not sound like much but that would save about $30 k per year savings

    @@13thbiosphere So GM thought that the Chevy Volt with a gasoline engine that drove a generator that supplied power to the battery, once it ran out of juice was a good idea too, and look what happened to the Chevy volt.

    - yes Ideal, coast to coast range with no useful payload. It will be great - the future where the interstates are full, and nothing gets carted, full employment, energy too cheap to meter, the highway of life.. lol (jk - take a pill man).. I see all potentials, just don't go too far, taper isn't bad, though $1M battery per vehicle is obscene - unless it is a megapack going to its latest fire.... (jk - "buffer plant")

    What on earth is your 2170 Lithium Ion battery cells having a capacity of 4800 MAH? Electrical energy is measured in Joules or Watt.hours so whatvon eath are your 4800 MHAs? Mega Amp hours? LoL

  • @TeslaCarWorld

    It is used to describe the level of energy charge the battery can maintain and how long the device will run before the battery runs out, you can call it milliampere-hour. We appologize for some errors in reading this unit and thank you for supporting us!

  • @MrVaticanRag

    @@TeslaCarWorldthank you for your courteous reply. Your "mili-Ampere.hour" needs to be abbreviated to "mAh" so there is no confusion with "Mega-Amperes" or maybe next time you could also convert to energy capacity units of Mega-Joules or even kiloWatt.hours for the rest of the world that uses and understands ISO units?

    Guy - demonstrates little in-depth knowledge of trucking - as Tesla seemed to design this /marvellous piece of transport / obscenity, to "just be a really really really big car", not a truck for full time pros. - Centre seat like most offroad single seaters or tractors...

    And when will this "masterpiece" be available to purchase? Apart from the 2 paid by PepsiCo the other were paid by taxpayers as subsidies. Expect a Nobel price for the "automatic clutch" that engages/disengages the motors. I wonder when that will be available in other trucks and optimised gear ratios, what will these geniuses come up with next!

    A solar powered car/truck that will not need to stop to recharge, eliminating all of this bellying about range. I am so sick and tired of hearing all this bellyaching about, oh why can’t we have a longer range car/truck? The answer is we can, and we will, but Rome wasn’t built in a day, as these things take time to develop and roll out. Capeesh! Cheers 🥂
