the metal plates can easily be replaced with plywood, including that collar. Have a look around, there are already plenty designs which use plywood collars to hold drills. With a regular angle grinder you could even make do with two angle brackets i think, since they usually have at least two mounting points for that extra handle. but then again, it's a good excuse to finally get that welder 😁👍

The only function I have a problem with is the trim router function ... because standard drill chucks are NOT designed for handling side-thrust (regardless of how much you tighten ) the cutter WILL come loose... other than that usage, I REALLY like this multi-function tool and with a spare 110mm grinder in a drawer somewhere, I might knock this up... 👏😏 From the Emerald Isle 😎👍☘️🍺
