My favorite fishing hack was taught to me by my grandfather. Always keep a couple of old spark plugs in your tackle box. When you get hung up, clip a spark plug on your line and drop it in the water. It will slide down the line and bump your hook, knocking it loose from the snag.

I bought my daughter a new sewing machine with a heavy duty motor so she could make face masks for our local nursing home. She's done several dozen. To give her a break I told her she can sew me up some of your DIY lure wraps. I'm making them the exact same as you did but I'm having her sew the velcro in. She didn't look thrilled. LOL Gawd bless her, she has cranked out a bunch of those masks in the last two months. I like the lure wraps better. Thanks FnS. Great tip.

When you need to paint something that the solvent in the paint eats (like styrofoam), try wiping on a coat of shellac first. Like sharpie, it's an alcohol-based finish & will protect whatever you're painting from the solvent of the paint. Also, if you prime whatever it is you're painting with a white base-coat, whatever color you top-coat it with will appear brighter. (I paint a lot of lures that the paint is worn out on with nail polish & always do this. Which brings up Hack #7 - buy up oddball colors of nail polish at garage sales & out of the clearance bin to paint lures with - it holds up to the abuse MUCH better than regular paint, especially if you give it a coat of clear or two over the top when you're done. =) )

I know it's a bit late, but if you want to paint styrofoam bobbers with aerosol paint, just get yourself some Mod Podge at the craft store. It's basically Elmer's white glue with a resin in it that will literally become a "shell" over the bobber when it dries and it will protect it from the solvents in the paint you want to use. You can even add color to the Mod Podge by mixing it with a little craft paint (Apple Barrel, Craftsmart or Folk Art brand). This makes it easier to tell if you miss a spot, since the Mod Podge dries clear.

For painting the foam, you could put a brush on primer so it protects the foam from the accelerant in the spray paint. Would be super cheap. What I also use is a mix of paint and mod podge as a base and then spray paint that

I just found this channel and have a hack that you may have already shown people but I’ll tell you what I do and you may find it interesting. Ever been on the lake and realized that you needed more fishing line on your reel and you know how awkward it is to fill the reel back up? To fill up a reel from a 1/4 lb spool of line, I take a peanut butter jar that is slightly bigger in diameter from the spool of line, then drill a very small hole in the side about in the middle of where this spool would sit in the jar, feed the line through the hole and you can then refill a reel without having the spool to unravel and get line everywhere. After filling, I use a short piece of tape to secure the end of the line to the outside of the jar making it easier to fill up the next time I need it. I even fill reels at home using this method. Grin.

Great ideas as always, thanks for sharing! I also love to create my own stuff. One I will share is: a lot of people are using fiberglass tree support rods for push anchors for smaller boats. They are really hard to find now and are getting expensive, shipping is 3 times the cost of the rods. I bought some wood closet rods, 10' long X1.25" around, for about $6 each, at my local lumber company. You can coat with epoxy or polyurethane etc. to make them last longer, but for the price you can afford to replace yearly. I am making brackets for them to slide through, PVC lined. I hope this is helpful.

I like your idea about the jig holders but I'm going to glue the foam to the inside top of a bucket I like to hang my jigs and lures on the rim hanging inside the bucket this will keep them from falling into the bucket then drill a hole in the bottom big enough for the seat post to go threw holding the bucket to the floor so it doesn't move McDonald's has 2 gallon buckets they get pickles in they throw them away I'm sure if you talk to the manager you could get some lids too good video keep it up thanks for the ideas

You can buy sheets of duct tape. I use soft sided tackle boxes. I use foam like that in the hook box to keep the hooks from getting all mixed up. I just don't glue the foam inside the compartment so I can pull it out and have hooks stuck in both sides.

Love the lure wrap idea. I used that same idea with borh Velcro & those snap buttons you used on a previous video to make snap on / velcro window coverings for my tents. When you have little ones they tend to rip off the zippers or coverings. As always awesome video brother & thanks for sharing 👍🎣😎
