"Sequence not shots". Excellent. Another way to think of it is building a scene. I love limiting filming to 5 or 7 seconds. Grab 6 to ten of those. Then you can assemble a scene out of the shots. Forces you to be fast and varied.
GREAT advice! Thank you!
These tips are very helpful! Thanks.
Some of the best and unique tips for filmmaking available on KZread. I’ve been a huge fan of your videos and I’ve also attempted to recreate some of them. Thank you so much 😊

Sympa, merci, j'en utilise déjà la moitié mais je maitrise moins les jeux de lumières et filtres.
The 70/30 rule is something I guess I’ve been doing intuitively, but now it has a name. Thanks!

Yeah I always did it before I really knew what I was doing but nice to see how the rule works.
So nice to learn from young people like you! Esp the 70-30 rule! Love it thanks (I'm 61 btw)

That mist filter looks very much like my old Sigma lens with fungus 😁
Это очень даже круто
Great tips as usual. I've already learned a lot of things from you. I would like to ask you about your opinion on Mist and ND filters: if you have to choose just one of them what you would prefer to pick up? The thing is that I'm shooting with Osmo Pocket 3 - that's what I have for now - and I can't combine both ND and Mist. The ND gives me the opportunity to have the correct motion blur but no hase, while if I choose the Mist, I won't have the correct motion blur. I understand that in most of the cases it depends on the circumstances and the shot that I'm about to take, but... would you sacrifice the motion blur for having that mist view or you would prefer to sacrifice the mist look for the correct motion blur? And thank you for all you are doing 🙏😊 ~Philip

Ah damn that is a really tricky one. I think I would go with the nd to be honest. Overall having the correct motion blur is going to make a bigger difference I think. You can also add bloom in post but be warned it is heavy on your pc. I made a video recently about how you can do it in Premiere if you are interested.

@@seankitching Thank you, Sean. Yes, I watched that vid as quite all of your vids from a year+ ago (and when I have time I'm returning to your older ones). I still have to learn many things and constantly forget some tips and sometimes miss the opportunity to use them while on field 🙂 Time and practice... I can add the bloom in desktop CapCut too (my laptop can't handle Premiere or DaVinci) I just wasn't sure what the better solution would be. Thank you again.
Yeah sure, BACK lit ;-)

How would the VPN work with Netflix now that you are only allowed to stream from your HOME IP address???
70 degrees? really? I think you meant 30 degrees rule. Not sure about the 30mm focus length though. It cannot be 70mm either.
Is having a thirsty thumbnail one of the tips?
Can we see more of your videos that you have created

Lots of good tips but i hate mist filters. It ruins the picture and the picture is not sharp anymore. You can always give this look in post if you need it. I dont want it baked in
@JflowVisuals
17 күн бұрын
If want ultra sharp footages definitely dont use mist filter 🥸
@seankitching
16 күн бұрын
Yeah definitely get this point. I guess its a preference thing. I kinda like the softer look, digital is too sharp these days. Adding it in post is also good but damn its heavy on your pc for long videos though
Why is the quality of the video that terrible? Did you capture the video with the camera of a Macbook?
thx for the video, great content) you have a really annoying hissing or some other kind of noise in the video. maybe it's coming from the radio system
@seankitching

I know ;( so annoying my mic system kinda just died
How about learning the rules and then intentionally breaking them to gain a pattern interrupt?
@seankitching

Ah yeah super good technique I would think. As long as it seems intentional and not just like a mistake.

Thanks for a great video 🥰 Not sure you explained the 180 degree rule 100% right… in your example it looks like you put the semicircle from side to side of the subject instead of from front to black of the subject? 🫣
@seankitching
16 күн бұрын
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! In my opinion the circle can be from any point just as long as you stay in that half. Like if you had a scene of someone walking somewhere having the side might make more sense in my opinion at least :)
@mathiaserichsen8177
16 күн бұрын
@@seankitching I guess anything goes, but it’s when you go from one side of the face axis to the other you’ll get the impression that the character is turning from one side to the other, and potentially confusing the audience (unless you do a dolly-shot from one side to the other) 🤙🏻
@filmmakerevolution
16 күн бұрын
yeah you're right, the 180 degree rule is a line drawn through the scene between two people to keep the left & right sides the correct orientantion. Wouldn't work drawing a semi circle around someone like in that example
