@@kyleloftusstudios Question: how do you take a video while your whole background is dark but your face is only shown? Like at @2:33 wouldn’t the flash light hit the black sheets?

You use a grid :) and you make sure you have a black background. If not try to be as far as possible from the background.

Hey man, Thank you for your phenomenal work. I love the overhead cinematic look but I have a dilemma I’m hoping you will help me with. Any advice on where to place the shotgun microphone? I usually have it on a boom pole right above me but with the overhead light, it will cast a mic shadow. What’s the best/typical place for it?
Like the content, and also your positive vibe!! thanks for the good energy

Thank you for this video! Can we achieve a similar and close quality and effects using a smartphone? E.g. I have a Samsung Galaxy A71 and noticed that there is always too much light in my clips and as I (the subject) move during the video the amount of brightness changes as well (which is really annoying). Could you give a tip on how can I (and potentially other newbies) deal with such situations? Thank you very much!
Very usefull and straight forward, I will use them very soon

Awesome your video
Hi, first of all, a great video! Subscribed. I can’t achieve split lighting effect with my softbox. I placed my soft box on the subject’s right side and I tried to shot standing opposite to the subject so that it’ll be 90° between the camera and the softbox. For some reason, the entire subject's face is in light instead of just one side. Do I need to have dark background on all sides? My room has white walls. Does it cause a problem for this effect? I don’t know how to fix this. Could you tell me what I am doing wrong ?

Nice tips! Thank you. Can I know what is the aperture, shutter speed and ISO that u use in this video? Plus did u use color grading in this video or just its raw from the camera? Because I have issue, in the screen look bright but when I watch it in pc, it looks darker huhu
Learned a lot from this video. Definitely going to switch up the lighting on my channel!
