Fun fact: "sorry hoor" doesn't mean "sorry wh*re" instead it is an insincere apology. It means something like "I apologise, but I think you are exaggerating"

"geeft niet" is a short alternative voor "maakt niet uit" and avoids the "ui" sound, which is quite difficult for most foreigners.

Also the "oo" in "looking" is really hard for Dutch speakers which you can hear when the speaker says "I'm looking forward to it." It's not the same as the "oo" in "hoop" or "loop" or "goed" for that matter.

@@kevin___ I never met a another Dutch person who could not say "ui". I think the problem with "therapeut" is that you say the "ui", but it is not written. So if you are not familiar with the word you pronounce it as it is written.

@@kevin___ I think that has more to do with the confusing spelling. It is written as "therapeut" (because it comes from greek), but you pronounce it as therapuit.

Nederlands is voor ons duitse werkelijk een interessante taal om het le leren. Als je denkt, dat je de woordschaat kan improviseren, merk je dat het vaak klopt maar aak ook niet. Een in de meesdal van de woorden merk ja daarna da t dewoorden in engels soortgelijk zijn of dat het in duits een andere woord geeft dat we meer gebrouken ( zoal wichtig voor belangreich, fast voor beinahe ...).Als je in de trap van de vele fout vrienden valt, hen je een goede reden om een beetje te lachen.

Dat kan ik mij goed voorstellen. Toen ik op school Duits leerde had ik vaak niet geoefend voor mijn examen. Ik kon dan als nog een voldoende krijgen door de woordenschat te raden. “Als je in de trap van de” … dat is grappig, je gebruikt een valse vriend in deze zin, waarschijnlijk bedoel je “val” in plaats van trap :)
