Seeing the video's of Dan Hilferty and Keith Jones meeting the players in the lockers after games brought back that Ed Snider feel to the franchise, that was something that wasn't done very often since Mr. Snider's unfortunate passing, but it is something that really means something to the fans as well as the players themselves.

The management team is great. TORTS is the best Flyers coach in a very long time. This team is headed for greatness. Cheers from Edmonton.

I'm hopeful for the future, but does anyone feel like I do? All the way back to Hakstol I feel like every year we are trying to figure out what we have with our young prospects. Hakstol and Gordon just ran out every young player we had and they were all awful. Then AV, then Yeo takes over and that whole year again we are trying to find ourselves, no identity. Now Torts takes over and I understand he has to find out too, but damn it been the same story since 2018. What team goes through this for so many years? I sure hope this is the last time we hear this. Watching Bob in the playoffs is just baffling that he came through this organization and we lost him somehow.

Im a broad street bully,teams were terrified to come to the spectrum,I personally fought the canadiens wen they came to the bench after a shift,you young dont remember wen the glass came up half way behind the coaches.You could literally reach over and grab them.Now teams cant wait to come here and play this shit team.No scoring,wrong.captain,D is horrendous,No goalies,We are 5 years away from bein 5 years away.When will we see heart,grit,want to to go in corners and battle.Wat else u want to no,Also young players do no want to play for that lunatic coach you have.

A top 5 NHL team scores 290 - 300 goals. The Flyers scored 231 to be in the bottom 6. There's about 5 Moneyball quotes here somewhere..... U need to buy goals

Its not Torts only, he is good coach, maybe updated his skills too, but its how good and talented young players they are able to sign in near future. Fact is the Flyers have good intentions but the result is always the same. Up against the Cap again this upcoming season and unless a "Hockey Trade" is made during the Summer or at the Draft the roster will basically be the same. The team will likely take a small step back but the following year they will be free to be active and change the Roster and continue to make the most of the 1st round draft picks over the next 2 years.

Actually they took away the 11 game season package this year. So is that taking care of the fans? why not offer that again? Talking with my sales rep from last season they are pushing for people to purchase half season (25 games) and full season ticket packages.

Also, I hope Michkov stays in the KHL for a couple seasons, he owes it to SKA St. Petersburg to win a Gagarin Cup (the second most important championship in all of hockey) before he comes here to the Flyers. It will also help get the cap situation straightened out so that by the time Kirill Kaprizov becomes a UFA in 2026, the Flyers will have the cap flexibility to sign him.

this isn't a lawn mowing company, it's a bit more complicated. Their job is to give Briere the resources and space he needs to rebuild a team from nothing. A new expansion team is in a better position than Fletcher/Holmgren left.

To put it in the terms of how the fans can understand how Dan Hilferty explained Charlie's first question is simple. The people who were asked to step aside for the new regime are: Bobby Clarke-Paul Holmgren-and Bill Barber! They ran the franchise into the ground with their ancient ideas and lack of knowledge how that game is being played in this century. All of those former Flyers are still around for ambassador reasons, but their part of the "war-room" is finished entirely. Thank goodness!

They wouldn't be having this talk if Michkov was coming. Nobody is coming. They are all leaving including Konecny. They couldn't sign Gauthier cause Comcrap is broke.

This is all great. But what are you going to do about the on ice product? Just be happy as a perpetual bubble team? Because right now they need to be tremendously lucky in the draft, something they have a poor history of. This team and prospect pool is chock full of middle and bottom six talent except for Michkov. You can sign your way out of it by giving 28 year olds 8 year deals, but that will make a short window as those deals inevitably age badly and handcuff the team. We need to draft stars, and sign a big FA when he is the final piece. This team needs a 1C, a 2C, a 1D. If they expect to sign them, it gonna cost 35 million easy, for probably 8 years. Im sorry, but drafting in the teens every year is not going to get it done. They are nowhere near being a cup contender. Abd still lack the prospects to make them one.

Right now it seems like the Flyers are stuck in mediocrity, the only way to improve is through the Draft and you don't improve through the Draft by spending the season fighting for a Wild Card spot and wind up with the 12th overall pick in a Draft where potentially the most impactful players will be drafted by the time your pick comes up. I don't want to paint a picture of hopelessness, there are reasons to be hopeful (Michkov being the biggest reason), but it seems to me the Flyers have quite a few needs before there's even a chance of contending for a championship.

I disagree, I think they need to make the playoffs next season.

What value does Hilferty provide? Seriously, what does he bring to the table that improves their ability to manage cap, draft wisely, trade for an upgrade, or identify and provide solutions to hockey problems? Every team needs a coach, a GM and most want and need a president of hockey operations. But one more layer? And the guy is self-admittedly a "fan". What the hell value does he provide? He acts like a groupie, hanging in the locker room, traveling to road games, sheezus...is just just in place to rat to ownership when he sees something they may not like?

@@bighandsome9165 Is this a serious question or were you looking for a laugh? Snider owned the Flyers. Comcast Spectacor owns the Flyers today. They don't trust Jones or Briere to run the team, so ownership put Hilferty in charge of looking over their shoulder. Snider did his own inspection, personally, but did verify and confirm. If Comcast doesn't trust Jones, then get rid of him and have Hilferty babysit Briere and Torts, instead of acting like a groupie.

Way too much work to be done prior to making the playoffs. We struggled with the Caps and they’ve got their asses kicked by the Rags

Flyers have 5 firsts and 5 seconds in the next 3 drafts. A large majority of the roster is 25 and under. I can keep going if u want? You don’t know what you’re watching

Gotta clear out all the problems Chuck Fletcher created... What a big error it was to bring him in after Hextall was trying to do what these guys are trying to do now.

If you’ve ever worked in mgmt or especially healthcare, you can tell Hillferty creates a positive work environment. The importance of that cannot be ignored.

How proud was Hilferty of this team when they threw 8 games to sink their playoff hopes? Does he understand why the players did it? Could he even tell that was happening while it was unfolding? The Flyers have an HR department right? Great bonding experience for the players but def makes team management look like jokes. I wonder why Hilfertys company BCBS has a bunch of foreigners instead of Americans in their call center. His company provides American data & social security numbers to foreigners so they can overcharge for product & underpay staff. Also could we make the BCBS advertising any bigger on the jersey? How about a more annoying color that ruins the jersey? Worst jersey ad in the league.

To the on-line fans who chat about who stays and who does on the roster, just look at a player like Scott Laughton, he's a player who's been on this team through the times when they were really bad. He's still here today, and I want him to remain on the team when they return to the playoffs. Unlike what the Phillies did with Rhys Hoskins, I want Sarge to stay. I wish the speculation about trading him is laid to rest.

Rhys Hoskins was a much more productive player for the Phillies than Laughton ever has been with the Flyers. Before Harper signed, Hoskins was basically the Phillies' best player.
