I always wonder what is supporting the weight of the ladder. And what is distributing the weight when someone gets om the laddar

How come all of the ladders I've seen are mounted on the left? Can I not install it on the right side?

Is there some kind of rubber spacer between that top bracket and the roof of the vehicle? Otherwise it seems like that metal would rub off the paint under load.

The rubbing was a common problem for me just from the ladder weight. The new ladder is lighter, so the problem might have been solved. I'm installing rubberized flex tape on the top bracket for this reason. I'm also going to be installing it on the bottom bracket to help with the screws going through the inner door paint.

I have a 2017 rav4 will this fit?

Where did you get the rear cargo light from? I see it in the video. Also, How much weight can the ladder hold. Im 240lbs. Can I climb it or no?

Recommended weight is 260 lb

Is adding this bound to damage the paint in the areas where the screws are?

Also, I watched a video where another guy installed, and it looked like the bottom bracket was scratching/denting the top of his rear bumper. Is there any way to grind down that piece so that it is not scratching when the trunk is closed?

Surprised that all your hardware is steel and not black. Would make the finished product much cleaner.
