    While figuring my hair out over the last year, I started out as a "product junkie" just to find out all my hair needs/loves is Infusium 23 leave in and any oil (I like Vatika) and stretch-air dry in twists. You are so right with this series. Simple is all we need.

    I forgot all about Infusium 23!!! That used to be my stuff! I couldn't live without it. Thanks for reminding about it. I am definitely getting to the simplifying my hair routine stage. I also tried a bunch of products and got "Oooh shiny" when I saw something new. But I ain't got time for all of that.

    Okay so i'm back ! After watching this video I immediately started using this method. I just wash and then seal with oil and use the shea moisture leave in for my styler. I'm using a mixture of castor & olive oil to seal with since I'm doing this castor oil challenge. But in essence, I love this way of moisturizing. I'm saving product, time and my hair is NOT breaking at all. I'm getting 4 days of moisture and on the 4th or 5th day I re-moisturize so my hair doesn't dry out. Thanks so much for clearing up all this BS. I do so enjoy learning from you. You are an excellent educator !!!

    I really enjoy all of your videos from hair to the cello . I have one question. What do you think of this trend of only washing the scalp and not the length of the hair. I remember when it first popped up on the hairboards, with one poster, who was relaxed. Since then this method has spread just about everywhere. In your professional opinion is cleansing only the scalp enough. Personally, I cleanse the scalp and the entire length of hair to remove build up and allow the products that I use after shampooing to be absorbed by the hair.

    Hey Afrikan hair god 😃 I've been watching you for a while and I love your videos. You keep it real and I really trust your advice. I wanted to ask you a question though. How often do you detangle/pick out your twa (do you really do it every day?). My hair is as short as yours but it's really thick yet fragile. All the blogs say that I shouldn't detangle too often, but the longer I spend without doing it, the more my hair breaks. So should I be picking it out every morning like you?

Now, I rarely go, but I notice my scalp does become dryer compared with heatless methods. Last question: does any oil work? I like grape seed oil, but I usually hear that jojoba is closer to our sebum pH. Is it better for that reason? Stay blessed as well😉!

  • @AfrikanHairGod

    @AfrikanHairGod

    4 жыл бұрын

    A leave in does not equate to a moisturizer. A leave in conditioner is exactly that: a conditioner in a lighter firm that is designed to be left in. Check out my cosmetology video of how conditioners work to help give you a better perspective on a conditioners and leave ins. A leave in is a treatment that can add some moisture due it's water content, but it's purpose is to smooth, coat, and protect the hair. In a sense, oil can do the same thing but it is heavier in that it can help aid in more moisture retention for those that need it. The LOC method is based on the same concept but it's not the same. It focuses on just layering products on the hair to help retain moisture but having the water in the hair is key.

    Great info however there was one big mistake. Oil does NOT moisturize anything. Why? Because by definition, moisture implies the presence of water. Oil contains NO water, hence it being unable to moisturize skin. Oil does however nourish skin. It is great for use as an emollient, but it has never and will never moisturize be a moisturizer.

    AfrikanHairGod I wish I could like this comment at least 8 more times because u at no point said u were using the oil to moisturize. man, u even did a cut-to just to say that your hair was already damp. everybody wanna talk, nobody wanna listen.
