In today's video I am working a geode acrylic pour painting using a dual technique! Continue reading to see how I achieved the final look 😉
Follow along!
I am working on two 10 inch square canvases. I wanted to try two different color variations; a darker purple and a lilac. I mixed my acrylic paints with Sargant Art Gloss Medium and water. I started by a simple white base and then used two different techniques to create the geode effect.
I interchanged between a ring pour and a puddle pour painting technique to create these beautiful patterns and I am in LOVE with how it turned out.

This is perfect. It looks like you studied geodes then hand painted it. You not only have the rings but the natural “cells” that real geodes have.

Gorgeous! Do you share you paint recipes/ratios. I know not all artists do, which I totally respect if you prefer not to.

Thank you! I use about 2-3 parts medium to 1 part paint and then slowly incorporate water until it is the consistency that I want for pouring.

Unfortunately I don't measure my water precisely. Each paint can be a different consistency so I use different amounts.
Thank you for explaining what you are doing especially mixing your paint with what and how much. Allot youtube videos that demonstrate pours but do a terrible job explaining.
