Hi James. Hope you are well. I was late to your channel, but I have watched all of your vlogs and enjoyed them so much that I actively explored the possibility of narrowboat ownership. But at nearly 70 I think I have missed the boat. Excuse the pun. I really admire the grit, determination and energy you have put into this project, it is a credit to you. Congratulations on all the hard work, and the many, many hours of attention the boat has received. I arrived here about a year after you bought S.P. and binge-watched the restoration videos to catch up. The new owner will get a superbly appointed boat, that's for sure.

A careful owner is what she needs yes. But ideally she’ll go to someone who needs her like I did. This boat could get someone out of the housing crises we have here - that’s what I’m hoping for anyway

She scrubs up well. Can't believe I've been watching since day 1. All those cold wet nights in what was a metal shell with the bare ballast floors. You've done a marvelous job James, well done. I'm sure she'll be well loved and appreciated by her new owner. It will be great for them to have all the videos to look back on too.

Looking back at the footage, that winter was bleak to say the least. As you say sleeping on the ballast with no heating and lights - pretty rough compared to the luxury I have now 😂

A real bang-up job James. You really did (re)build her, and made lock-down bearable, even though I completly lost the plot at my end. Not sure if I found you on episode1, but I'm pretty sure I've watched (and liked) every one! Thanks so much for all the laughs, and a few tears, along the way. I'm sure whoever takes her on will treasure her, and that new bottom should survive anything the canals can throw at her. As another youtuber says, "Onto the next job". Wow! In October of 2020 I had never heard of a narrowboat (the canal system here in America is long gone). Then I saw an online article about "If you want to get your mind off of the upcoming election check these KZread channels out..." which had a link to "Cruising The Cut". Found you soon after, then MinimaList, Holly, Danni & Joe, The Foxes, Robbie Cummings etc. Four years later I know more about canals, boats, England than I ever thought possible and we are again in election season here in The States. I will continue to watch for the calmness that you all deliver. The rebirth of Sloe Patrol that you orchestrated is amazing! Keep up the good work on Project 58, finish it up "Proper" as you occasionally say and enjoy her for years to come! Thanks for sharing the experience.

Unfortunately for you James you’ve had the joy of my company from just before the boat developed a hole ! Think I may of jinxed you ! Lol When you look back you certainly put some blood sweat and tears in to sloe patrol! I loved them days, from the good times you had at kenilworth, to the time you had your maiden voyage . Sincerely happy days ! Will miss sloe but it’s on to bigger and better things !! You looked so young back then too ! Oct 2020! You were one of the first vloggers I watched (and met at North Kilworth). Where the hell has the time gone?

James, were you surprised at what you have achieved after all the work you have put i nto this amazing experience? It must have been wonderful looking back on past videos to see how far you ( and Sloe Patrol ) have come ? When I saw the title , Final narrowboat tour , I felt sadness, thinking I wasnt able to watch your exploits any longer ......but now i understand . The boat looks phenomenal !

It does make me proud. Truth be told, I haven’t completed much in my life and this one stands up there. Progression has and is being made for me which is good. You can keep watching my exploits on the next boat and there’s a bit more of sloe to come

They are both around!! Carol is ok - a few dramas going on at home but she’s stoic. Sarky Bugger comments on every video still - she’s cool.
