    Very educational, as others already said .. First time i am seeing error retrieval, similar to SYSCON method on the PS3s .. I hope the community comes up with methods for the APU & those ICs U mentioned on a comment to be remarried succesfully .. Lots & lots of PS3s and PS4s would have been saved, if it weren't for Sony's idiotic obsession for "pseudo" security on their consoles ... Cheers

    The APU cannot be replaced alone. It is married to several ICs on the board. I would have to change all of them.

    I have a CUH-7015B with a pulsing BLOD(when the pwr button works). I've checked the PSU (ADP-300CR) and it output a steady 11.895v when tested. Is this normal or low? If normal, what else can cause the intermittent pwr button? I've confirmed the button is good. The eject button works every time.

    @@ToltecMerc I ordered a SB today. I was thinking the same thing. Thanks for the advice. FYI: I just received my first PS5 for repair today. Symptoms: Powers on after left disconnected from power for an extended period of time. Strangely, USB ports charge controllers but syncing them does not. It doesn't want to turn back on after power cycling. I was thinking of trying a full system install via safe mode next. Stay tuned. Let me know if I can email you.

    Hello, I have the same problem, it turns off immediately. I've seen a resistor that gives 3.6K and I think it's the fault but I don't have another board to check it. The board is NVB 004. Could you help me if I tell you what resistance it is?

    These Sony consoles always have a lot of issues don't they? I have consoles from all generations from Nes and Sega Master to Dreamcast, Wii, Gamecube and the Sony consoles are the only ones that are always breaking. Every single Playstation I've ever owned is dead. Last one I got was a PS4 Pro, haven't used it in months and when I tried turning it on the other day it does the same thing as this one in the video. The thing just stopped working. Even without being used it still breaks.

    the hard drive may have been good at the time the console failed, but during the downtime it could have taken on a case of weak or bad sectors -- which can indeed cause BLoD and it's also a potential explanation to a one time then no more

  • @ToltecMerc

    @ToltecMerc

    I removed the drive and it would do nothing but show BLOD. It would not give the message about no storage device. Also the UART output was dead. No info scrolling by.

    @@ToltecMerc honestly can't remember if it was one of your videos i seen it from but a BLoD troll can also originate from flux getting under a crystal -- especially the one that lives right next to the southbridge off the top of my head, unsure of proximity to the area that was worked on, or presence of other crystals to the area worked on, but they are sensitive to "underfill" of any kind

  • @ToltecMerc

    @ToltecMerc

    Жыл бұрын

    Yes I have at least one video where I did get flux beneath the 32KHz crystal but that gives an obvious error when looking at the UART output. The data will stop scrolling and hang when it gets to the Real Time Clock.

    If you know you have a short on a supply, you can inject voltage and see what gets hot with a small amount of alcohol. You need to know what voltage would normally be there so you don't inject too much. You should probably start with 1V from your power supply. Be very careful how much voltage you inject.
