I'm pleased that you are convinced that you do not have Hsin. I've heard of many potters having to stop throwing due to arthritis. Your pottery is amazing, I've been following you on youtube for several years, IN FACT, you was the first potter I ever followed. Thank you for all your videos and taking the time to share them with us,

I would love to see this in split screen with Matt Horne pulling exactly the same Vase just to compare their different techniques.

Even though the sound is dreadful which he speaks about in ten years, muted watching is marvelous. This is his 25-year-old kiln.

@mudpuddle910 Sorry, I forgot to answer your other question. The clay I used in this video is about 6 pounds and the final height is about 21 inches. I seldom weight my clay because softer or stiffer clay will have different results. Most of time when I am throwing I just push to the limit of clay. The clay will tell you what to do next.

Thank you so much for these wonderful videos! I enjoy watching them so much. Maybe in a future video, could you put the camera at a higher angle when you are opening up, so we can see inside the pot & how your fingers are opening?

Love your work. One technical question: when you use your right-hand thumb to pull the walls up, are your other fingers on that hand guiding the clay as well? Your videos are great -- just wish you would include the amount of clay (poundage) you are working with. Watching this is teaching me much -- especially patience!! Thanks!

@mudpuddle910 The answer is yes. Please watch my video post # 45. Throwing / Pulling / Lifting Cylinder step by step with Hsin-Chuen Lin. I might have answers for most of your questions if you have watched all of my 52 video clips. Please type keyword "mypots.net" or "hsinchuen" to search the videos. They should be easy to identify because I have numbered all the videos.

Are you using a white stoneware clay body or is this a porcelain body? if so is it translucent? do you mix your own clay bodies, or is this one i can purchase?

I fell asleep four times in the first minute of this video Hello!!! I love your work you are a very good potter and throw very nice pots. I especially like you " Tea Pots" very nice I could go on and on about your work and how much we like your style, your excellence in artistic expression at the wheel, but you have to put some music on or something, maybe whistle,or sing to us..Anything but dead silence we can hardly hear the wheel motor its killing me the "Dead silence" Can you "Help us"???lolol
