I’ve been a woodworker for many years. I even won state in 4-H in the wood science project eons ago. It doesn’t matter what tools you use to make your project. Use everything at your disposal. Whether it is a hand plane or a CNC, you are working with wood. Who cares if you cut out something on the table saw or the CNC does it. I applaud your use of technology and love your designs. Keep building brother!
I am a beginner to woodwork, the main test I have with this bundle kzread.infoUgkxTNB_zFBSnTo_O1PqfVUwgi7ityw0JlKt is that I think that its hard to settle on a choice of the plan and outline to use as there are a large portion of them there. Nonetheless, I like the simple stride to step directions laid out there.
I know it's frustrating when things don't go as planned, but I really like the new design on the ends. Both of y'all's projects turned out great.
"DON'T BE A GYRO" You are CRACK Jonny!!! I binge watched several of your incredible videos. I love your sense of humor, and your craftsmanship goes without saying. Thank you for sharing your art and humanity, and also that of Nick!
I have never, once, in my entire life, bought any kind of furniture. Hand me downs, curbside reclamation..... I have very rarely in my life ever wanted to buy furniture. If this was available for sale- i think i would probably sell a reasonably vital organ to buy it. The mural is wonderful too, but from the thumbnail to the final frames of your video this cabinet has captivated me! Very well done!
"Don't be a gyro": I love the mural that Nick has painted for you, and I absolutely adore the cabinet you've built for Nick. This mutually collaboration of artists may not be as big as what Jazza, Bobby Duke, and other artists have done with that beautiful painting, but it sure is huge. There's a display of respect and appreciation for each other that transpires any form of media, permeating straight through our hearts. Just like how the mural and the cabinet bring the best of opposite worlds together, creating a collaborative of opposites to complement each other. This video is absolutely inspirational. For those who are the gyro it should be a lesson that it doesn't matter if you're over educated or underclassed; what matters is that you try, fail, try again, fail again, but you never give up.
i like quilting... the color choices are literally endless and the geometric shapes and patterns are rather stimulating. The sewing machine is addictive in the way that throwing down some badass stitches is kickass. i farm out the quilting and just make the tops. A nice king size quilt can fetch decent coin.
Man the story, the friendship, the editing, the designs, the artwork, the problem solving, the craftsmanship, I love everything about this video Jonny, I even love the last vinyl you selected to be on top of the others to be played for your own enjoyment on those reveal shots :)
This entire video makes my soul happy. The way your personality shows through, the jokes, your work, his work. All of it. Amazing.
Don’t be a GYRO, Jonny this the most useful, inspiring and beautiful cabinet for records I’ve seen so far, my extra small shop is in the making and on my list of things I’d love to do when I’m done is some sort of record holding cabinets, so many things to fix around the house first but will definitely take your design into consideration when time comes, thanks a lot for sharing this beauty, and as for the mural, your friend did an excellent job
Wow, what a fantastic build! Thanks for sharing this one! One of the best things about you and this channel is that you actually show the "random features" or "custom elements" (errors 🤣) and don't pretend everything ALWAYS works out perfectly. Please keep producing and sharing these fantastic builds.
Incredible! As always, WOW! That is probably the most beautiful cabinet, records or not, I've ever seen. It wouldn't have been the same without the ribbed ends. Happy mistakes that push us in a better direction. Thanks for taking the time to share the whole process.
A fabulous cabinet. Love that you went with the wood handles. And Nic's mural is pretty bloomin marvellous too.
Absolutely amazing projects, both are outstanding. The talent really shines in each of your creations. It's great when two friends are able to do something like this. Thanks for the great videos
Love both the cabinet and mural! That's a good friend. Love watching your builds. They are awesomely beautiful! Thanks again for sharing! ❤
It’s absolutely stunning, I would love to have one ,not that I have any albums but I just love the shape and the design on the doors, 👏🏻
Jonny, we have been watching you closely with your incredible art and unsurpassable craftsmanship. Nothing can distract our family from your videos. Magnificent work and piece of art. Bravo 👏!
Both you and Nick are true artists in your fields (dance moves not included lol). Stunning mural and just amazing table build. You've inspired me. Well done to you both!!!
I love the teamwork. You guys work very well together. I love the desk it’s very amazing, it looked very good with his record player and everything on it. Thank you for sharing!
Man your eye for detail is almost unbelievable. Nothing less than the best. Awesome. Love the mural Thanks for sharing !!
What can say but wow to both projects. I agree your 2nd plan for the unit is better and gave it an extra dimension. The mural is fantastic what an artist.
" THERE ARE NO WORDS " ~~~ for both of you Craftsmen. Props and Blessings to you and yours.
Wowers that's definitely a one of a kind table. Can't wait to see more videos soon. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Keep making. God bless.
This turned out really good, and I agree the wood handles as is looks better than if you would've gone with brass or painted gold. The Mural turned out great as well!
Definitely interested in seeing a walnut coffee table. Round with a display section underneath Square insert of glass to see into display area.
Absolutely beautiful Johnny, love the contrast with walnut and maple. The design is spot on !!!!
Everything about this is dope! Your buddies are was gorgeous, and that record cabinet is just amazing!
Both projects turned out magnificent ✨️
Badass! Both projects turned out to be amazing. You should be proud of your build and definitely loved his painting. The colors are so vibrant.
Man! Love this design. Great job. Mural is so sick! I definitely have been thinking about making my shop more “pretty” instead of just functional! Love it
John, I'm in the area and building a table for a large company located in Edmond. I've been watching for almost two years and you've helped me out so much. I'm in the middle of a 10' long black walnut epoxy conference build with a logo inlay. I've made some beginner mistakes but Urban Wood Company has helped me out so much as well as your channel. Thanks for being here and making videos for us.
"Don't be a gyro" ! You and your friend are great artists ! Thanks for sharing ! Your cabinet for records is just amazing !!!!
Amazingly beautiful table, wow, the precision of your programmable machine and what you can do is literally unlimited. One of a kind master pieces, many blessings Kelli
BEAUTIFUL! Both, love it! Been watching you from afar but will now subscribe. The change on the ends give a contrasting view that stands out so well. Add in some differing colored album covers and it is going to POP! Well done on the Mural, hope you protect it from any contaminants. So many artists, woodworkers getting murals and then paint, spray, treatments, would just hate to find their artwork damaged by work environment. Thanks for sharing. Look forward to other projects and your commentary.
Awesome job Jonny! Love how you are down to earth enough to show your mistakes. Always be yourself. Dont be a gyro! Cheers from NW Indiana
Great Story and excellent cabinet. I love the resurgence of interest in vinyl and couldn't help but notice the Fleetwood Mac Rumors album in the final shot. Thanks for all the details and inspiration.
This is absolutely beautiful! Personally I would of left off the CNC pattern on top and just left the walnut grain to stand out. Walnut + maple contrast is my favorite!
One of the cleanest builds I have seen in a long time. Really great stuff!!
The final product is stunning! I love all of the contrast!
Both of those projects are awesome!!! Actually I should say "all three of those projects....." as he did a painting for your home too. I think I actually prefer the walnut ends to the originals. The darker ends, top and top really drew my eye to those doors which are so good on a record cabinet. I definitely love where your builds are going at the moment 😊 Keep up the good work 👍👍👍👍
The mural and the table both turned out amazing. It will make a great background for your videos.
The record player cabinet is magnificent. The koi mural is an outstanding piece of artwork too! Mind-blowing 🤯‼️👍🏻🇺🇸
That record cabinet came out GORGEOUS, Jonny!!! And the mural looks beautiful!
Outstanding! The friendship bond, the media center, the voice over, the editing and production make these videos make me dont be a gyro :-)
Beautiful work that compliments each other. Bravo!
Mural looks amazing and wow!!! Your end result is epic!!!! Absolutely beautiful!
Wow! It’s insane how beautiful that cabinet is. The top is a stunner for sure!
Amazing work you both created for each other.
What an piece of art! Both the wall and the wood work!
Don't be a Gyro! Totally awesome. I love watching makers as well as being a maker. 🧡
Beautiful pieces - both the cabinet and the drawing 👏
From Belgium, I really like your projects which are audacious and beautiful... well done, keep it up!
Don't be a Gyro! 🤣 That is a stunning piece of furniture. LOVE it!
DAYUM JONNY! THIS CABINET IS SICK!! WOW!! FREAKIN LOVE IT!!!!!!!
This video. This video made me subscribe. This video. Because. Love. Friendship. Humanity. Compassion. Dedication. Determination.

Excellent bespoke furniture right here!! Just the filming and editing alone must take a lot of your time. Thanks for the upload fella.
Love your creativity, precision and positivity!
Thanks for sharing your talents and also for including your fails. Your pieces are true works of art. Would love to see a video using the left over wood for the round table. #don'tbeagyro
Two great pieces in one video, thank you both.
Beautiful, Jonny! Really FANTASTIC work! 😃 And you know what? The spaced walnut pieces look much better than it would the other way! Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Nice video. Love the mix of CNC and cabinetry. And I share the love of running silly distances.
Love the project. Love the result. Love the mural. Love the decision to roll with the Fleetwood Mac album. Solid all the way around.
You always do cool art. It’s nice to see Beautiful artwork from two talented artists.
Hiya, what a fantastic build and painting! Thank you. No gyro's here. A friend makes wonderful Koi jewellery in sterling silver, I wish I had half her talent. She's Stardust Mine Jewellery on YT, yes she has a channel too. I love how the maker community is growing and watch a lot of diverse channels. Stay safe, Steve...
You do some great work. I wish my mind could think half as good as yours when it comes to being creative. Thanks for great content! 👍
Wow, beautiful cabinet. I love your craftsmanship.
Brilliant work. This is my favorite piece since you began introducing the CNC more deeply into your projects. I'm curious if you've had any updates (or done any testing long term) with the white epoxy fill that you're using. I've seen some of these turn really yellow after a while, even more so if they are exposed to heat (like temperatures between 35C to 40C). I will say what I liked most about this build are those curved ends, and I think it looks even better gapped than with it being solid. That's clever as. Scott from Japan
Very Awesome video. Thank you for sharing this with us all. I just got my new cnc about a week ago. Learning gcodes and designing. Starting a new business. I will be checking in from time to time, see if I can learn something new. Thanks again.
Appreciate the work. It's been over 30 year ago from when I programed cncs... I still remember reading G code trying to find mistakes, then running in test mode only to find minor errors. However, once I would get it perfected we'd run it for 1000+ parts, same program for years.
Beautiful work, both of you. Some years ago I made a quilt, out of scraps no less. It was pretty but certainly not competition quality. I donated it to a ASPCA dinner for their blind auction. Do you know that scrappy little quilt brought the organization $3000!!!!!! So you just never know, do you. Keep up the good work, fellas and I look forward to seeing more. Hugs from Canada!!
Don't be a gyro. That is an awesome cabinet! And what a great mural with those yin and yang koi. Amazing work from both of you!
That is absolutely beautiful, looks so art deco. Love the handles too, they are perfect, metal ones would of spoilt it. What's even better is that it is a one off, bespoke piece.
Stunning, beautiful gift.
Don't be a Gyro! Great vid Jonny. I was out at Vintage Reclaimed Lumber a few weeks ago and found some great cut-offs to use for small projects. Keep building.
New subscriber, here! I absolutely love your videos. You roll with the punches, and, like a true maker, make adjustments on the fly. Screw whoever says you're not a "real" maker. Like... what does that even mean?? You make things, hence MAKER. I really appreciate someone like you who isn't in it solely for the money, cuz that's not what makes making fun. I am a little new to the maker community... But, I can definitely say that people like you who are willing to share ideas and methods are the cream of the crop. Good on you, man. 🤓
Don't be a Gyro. Great video, love that painting. And thanks for sharing the aches and pains of machining. A lot of people assume too much when it comes to running one - so many unforeseen challenges can arrise at a moments notice that can cost you money and time in the end.
You are literally doing my dream job. Very satisfying watching you create these amazing pieces of art. I love using resin myself and love the beautiful grains in timber. Would love to have a workshop like yours one day. Can I ask what program you use on the computer? Is it Autosketch? Keep up the amazing work!
The final product is breathtaking! Great work Jonny 👌
GYROmazing at what you can do. The only purists are the guys and gals who have workshops without electricity and they’re too busy for KZread. Everyone else is a woodworker. Well done, some great ideas in that piece and a few happy accidents.
Incredible workmanship and design, feels very Art Deco. Fantastic
Hey Jonny, I just discovered your channel. I also follow some other woodworking channels and I am not surprised you get shit for using the CNC as much as you do. However, I don't understand why people want to call others out for using certain tools they like. I am also using my CNC often for stuff I can do by hand but I just enjoy the design, programming and the anxiety to push the 'Run' button. But that's what gives me joy in building. Is it therefore 'wrong' in woodworking. No, for sure not. So, keep enjoying the tools you have when you want to use them! The result is what matters, not the road to it. If the overall journey gave you joy and satisfaction, that was the road for you. Other than that, keep up the good work. I enjoy the content and I realised I have to name my CNC as well now. :D
That was epic! Beautiful work, both of you.
Jonny, love your videos and I have a question. When you began working with resin, did you do any special prep work? Like build a special table, experiment with different products and brands? Or was it all trial and error? Hits and fails? Or just pick a brand line of resin products and go from there? It looks like a great medium to work with but I'm stuck on which brand to start with. Thanks for your experience and insights. 👍🏻🇺🇸
What a beautiful design..Love it!
I like both the cabinet and the painting. So cool!
Oh gosh, this is phenomenal. So very elegant.
That cabinet is absolutely awesome. Great work!
Came for the hero, but stayed and watched for the gyro. Beautiful design, Jonny.
thats an amazing piece. Love the design.
A stunningly beautiful piece of work. Both of you.....
Amazing work on both!
Something you might like to look into if you like tessellation are Celtic Knots. My two personal favorites are the Dara knot and the Yggdrasil knot. I could totally imagine him hiding a Lover Knot in his next anniversary gift. xD
BEAUTIFUL MURAL!!
Absolutely beautiful, stunning design & fantastic craftsmanship as always. Don from South Aust.
Beautiful table, I am a avid vinyl record collector. I build a modern table for my antique system. But love your table you should start selling them.
Love the white inlay. Cool.
Turned out great Jonny, awesome work! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
Beautiful craftsmanship!
Need to put that Mural on the centre of the doors instead of the inlay. Amazing job.
