There are presses that are far stronger then 500 tons. Those are to mold high density materials. We are just luck to see what could happen in public. Where most places do not allow tours in high risk places. Another thing is if you think of it the big boy freight train when fully loaded it's self is roughly 1.275 million pounds. Which could travel up to about a top speed of 70 miles an hour.

look carefully 40 MPa (!) and 5800 psi
That big rail and the mallet, they were so strong they broke the press!!! Wow
You need to sell some of this stuff as art
If you look at the surroundings, it looks very much like this guy is trying this at his home! 😂
The shockwave these explosions produce is mind blowing
You know there is a shit load of force involved when the scale explodes off the object! "Do not try this at home.." Ha,ha...good one. Who has a press that can remotely deliver 450 tons of pressure in the garage? Subscribed for sure!
These presses ARE the hulk! They have hulk strength!
I love watching these videos. But, what the real purpose of this machine?
Excellent EDM.......................have you made videos pressing various sizes and grades of pipe................
What is the press made of?
Imagine some way to harness all the energy from the explosions and using it to power something
You get temp of crushed steel?
What is the metal bit of the press made of ?
Wow, that big rail when it give way,, OUCH 😬👍🇭🇲
Magical video.
Damn. Was just about to try this at home.
For some reason, this made me keep clenching my jaws.
Pretty awesome! But what material is the press made of? Seems like pretty strong stuff once it’s not damaged.

This is like shooting rolled homogeneous armor with an AP round.
I never realized how thick T34 armor was!
The seals on the ram are good! Do they ever leak?
Big rail: Props!
WOW. They both made me jump! Good job.
what is the press made from dont it buckle
Now I just need a saw to cut out a section of the local rail line so I can try this out! 😂
That was a good hammer !!
You make me want to wear safety glasses while watching this..!
Can you Crush a Terminator head ? ofc made of metal, hopefully with some electronics in it
ALL THAT FORCE HAS TO GO SOMEWHERE WHEN THE METAL FAILS. EVERYTHING GETS UPSET IN THE ROOM!!!!
There was something oddly satisfying about the rust popping off the first one.
That sledgehammer fucked it up😅
7:20 sounds like a vibrater back in 1990 lol.
That was like Hella breaking Mjolnir
😱 JUMPED! 450 TONS!
I'm gonna try this at home!
@5:30 such a test with hardened steel hammer is kind of brave. Without shielding, the splinters easily could kill you.
A breaking test on the bottom cylindrical block should be conducted . The press pump would fail first which would be fun to watch .
I'm afraid your warning came too late for me, I happened to find a 500 Tonne Press in my shed last week and I instinctively tried crushing some lengths of Railroad track - my next door nieghbor's car took the brunt of the damage from the flying track shrapnel - luckily he doesn't know it was me - I thinking of crushing some old land mines I found in the shed, do you envisage any problems with that?

Be sure to surround it with plexi and particle board for "safety".
This man is bearing a lot 😂
There is a big difference in the force applied by a large surface in the first experiments vs the sharpened point in the example with the tank armour. The psi in those piercing examples must be astronomical.
What am I missing? The pressure gauge shown in the insert shows a pressure of only 30 MPa (4351.14 psi) / 4400 psi when the hammer head breaks. Am I reading it wrong?

I keep mine in the living room, so no one steals it from my garrage
To the Joker, its just a normal hydraulic press.
SPOILER ALERT lol.. ok so the t800 scene would be pretty realistic then when it got crushed in the press.. loved the background music! the way that rail peeled at first was awesome to see! subscribed!
"Even the toughest crack under enough pressure" Alphonse Capone (1929, Chicago)
Like the Robocop arcade machine said, tough but not indestructible!
it gonna be interesting also to have a laser temp meter to see how fast the object raize the temp when it gets presing
What kind of floor do you have?
I wonder where is man gets his supply of metal objects. I can imagine him swimming in steel.
i SOO need a press like this😁🤣
Some duct tape reinforced with bailing wire will fix that hole right up...
We need to try this on Superman’s head.
I would like to see some information about this press too 👍
