    What dynamics would this test expose if the pipes were filled but not sealed in with plasticine. Would there be strengths exaggerated or altered in some ways. Cant seem to identify any nessesoties to pursue just pondering, comments?

    This is not a fair test. The steel rods are tensioned at the edges. When you cut a small piece, there is no tension, thus there is no resistance.
