I knew I had blood work coming, so I started Carnivore diet to get my A1C down and my triglycerides too. I'm type 2 D so I have been eating Keto for a LONG time. But my triglycerides were still over 700.... 726 to be exact. I had blood work done yesterday March 6th..I started carnivore Jan 8th and my triglycerides dropped to 286! My Dr was impressed. I told her it was carnivore diet. My A1c went from 7.9 to 7.2..I will be staying on this eating plan! @@LimitLessLindyI am not carnivore, but very low carb and meat based. Have been for 14 years now. Personally I find it much easiest than when I was starving myself fat and sick on 1200 low fat, high fibre calories a day. You are right. The learning curve during the first few weeks, then easy sailing. I really believe that most people have some degree of carb sensitivity. And some way more than others. But the food industry have push the idea their death diet works because of the few that can stay thin, if not healthy on it. I have a friend who eats all day. Sweets, large bags of chips, etc. Size two. She once said it was because she exercised. I pointed out that I also went to the gym every day, plus I was way more active at work. 80,000 steps or more a day with a step counter. According to calories in, calories out I should have disappeared. Congratulations on you weight loss, and on your website to help people.

What a great story! So glad to see someone turn their health around like that! I'm 44 and restarting carnivore/ketovore. I did it about 5 years ago and lost 30+ lbs, got rid of inflammation, reflux and improved my mood & mental clarity. I did it right before starting a new career as an RN and sadly the stress of my job led me to eating carbs again (PB&J sandwiches were my go to quick snack/lunch and sometimes all I had time to eat during a 12-13 hour shift). Plus plenty of beer to relax when I got home. Gained it all back and then some. I hit 250lbs a few weeks ago and that was my line I refused to cross. I'm 1 week in and not really down much in weight (maybe 2 lbs) but I already feel better. My inflammation was so bad that just getting up from a chair & walking down the hallway was painful - felt like I had to lift myself up by my shoulders. I already notice an improvement in my movement, energy and mood. Here's to the next 90 days and beyond.

I'm about to binge watch your playlist. I don't need to lose weight, but was diagnosed with 'carba mix' allergy last August. Now, its important to note that there is no one size fits all solution, of course 80% or more should come from some kind of meat amd fat, what kind of meat, what kind of fat, in what ratio(which can change from day to day and decade to decade) and so on is up to the individual to find. The carnivore type diet has been around for years, back in the seventies I was involved in amateur prize fighting, to make my weight I followed the Stillman diet developed by a Dr named Irwin Stillman, basically any kind of meat, fish and eggs. It worked out great for me for making weight but it was never looked at as a permanent way to eat. I have been doing keto-carnivore for years and have never felt better at 75 years young.
Dr Barry, I’ve done the low carb diet and KETO but do you have to be in ketosis when you do carnivore? I’m a 58 years young man is good health been low carb KETO for 6 years just started carnivore January 1 to lose that last 20 lb of fat feeling great during the adjustment phase but hearing buzz about having? to be in ketosis on carnivore. Yes, I understand there are a million good reason to be in constant ketosis but is it required in carnivore and if not why? Thanks

Being 6'2 and last January i was 330 with no clothes on, i lost only 70 thus far but still working on it. My diet isn't perfect which i'm going to adjust this spring / summer, hard to keep certain meal styles when it was cold outside for 4 months; Luckily fasting and sticking to 14k steps a day allowed me to still lose something during the cold months when i was eating improperly lol Aiming for 175 or whatever number that gets me 10% Body Fat, but that's the ultimate goal, my temp goal is 15% body fat. I'm sure Dr. Berry or one of his folks will answer but I can let you know that he has at least 1 or 2 videos on this channel that discusses some of the more common reasons folks may not be losing weight while on carnivore. It would probably be a good idea for her to ask her doc to do a series of blood tests to see if she has an undiagnosed condition that might be preventing the weight loss. Again, I think there are videos on this channel that talk about what labs to ask your doc to request. Hoping for the best and tell her not to give up!

I keep stalling out myself. But it's my own fault I keep cheating a few to many carbs. I keep finding foods and sauces I have to throw away. Also, a friend helped me by suggesting first thing in the morning, do a strong cardio 15 minutes has helped me hit ketosis. Stopping all cabs for a sugar addiction is not as easy as I hoped.

I hear for a lot of people that there's a lot of healing and adjustment that has to go on for some of us and I do hear of many saying that they experience that lack of weight loss but then all of a sudden it happens but it takes time. Some actually are encouraged with all the other health benefits that are happening that are non-weight loss victories as well. I would encourage her to listen to women who are either around her age or may have some of the same health issues or who are either at or who have been at the same place where she's at now if that makes sense. Amanda at carnivores me and Anita the ketogenic woman are a couple of many. There are a lot of coaching groups in the community as well. 😊

Women take to carnivore differently than men often. I found this out when listening to ZeroCarbLife on KZread. One thing I noticed in my own journey is I didn't lose as many lbs off the scale but I sure noticed it in my clothes. I needed a belt and kept tightening it. Also could fit some of my old hopeful pants. My main reason for sticking to it is I gained a ton of energy, focus and mental clarity. It's not always about the weightloss but the health.

Whats the best way to go about getting my 7 yr old sugar addicted kid to eat more meat and do you know of any low carb mds in san-antonio texas area
I am frustrated. I am 62, and I started officially in February carnivore. I have no problem with fasting. I drink 1 cup of coffee with 1 tblspn of flavored creamer. Rest of day ,I drink water. I put LMNT into my coffee because I cant tolerate salty water. I fast between 18-22 hours per day. I eat with my time frame. I slurge 1 time per week and have a double cheeseburger and onion rings with the bun. I lost 5 lbs last month. I am having some issues with working out because of back and hip and foot issues. My clothes fit the same. I know I don't eat enough protein or fat per day. I am 5'6" , and the starting weight was 231. I have been down to 226 since last month. I am very disappointed with this lack of progress. The dr states to eat the amount of protein for your desired weight. My desired weight right now would be to drop to 175. I just can't imagine trying to eat that many grams of protein per day when some days I only eat 1 time per day. I know I am not eating enough protein per day. I don't feel the need to snack, so I am good in this area. I know that the protein helps keep you satisfied. I use butter to cook. What I don't understand is how does eating that much protein per day helps one lose weight? I really am feeling disappointed and discouraged, and I really need some help, guys. I don't know what to do to get my weight to start dropping off where I can notice the difference. I would really appreciate the help, thank you!
Holy Donut, Batman! Wow. Dr. Berry, I'm dragging a young man (my guitar student) with autism and his mom along with me. Thank you! We are noticing huge improvements in his demeanor and cognitive ability. You'll be hearing more from us!
