I love seeing professional athletes take care of disabled kids and adults. Athletes have no idea what it means to them! Thank you thank you thank you! Pay it forward! ❤

I believe the runner who finished last by a long time, in the rain, actually received a grand from her country for showing so much determination and not giving up. She may have come in last, but she still made her country proud. Edit: "a blind boy" 😂

I absolutely love the pro athletes that do so much for kids & adults with disabilities. When you are born with a disability life is already hard. The athletes have the ability to make dreams come true & I have the most respect for the pros that prioritize their fans, especially the ones that have disabilities. Love it! The athletes that do show so much love to the fans have the biggest hearts & you can tell they were raised right by their mama. Their fame hasn't gone to their heads & they go all out for all their fans. I think it's great. I also love any & all athletes that have great sportsmanship for their fellow athletes regardless of what team they are on. The respect shown to fellow teammates & opponents is the greatest sportsmanship there is. I have the highest respect for the athletes that have that level of sportsmanship. It shows that they have compassion & empathy for a fellow human being. Something the whole world needs more of.

There are alot of people in all sports that do not showcase this level of respect. That is a shame, but at the same time shows you the people who can compete at the highest level and still show that respect and sportsmanship are values you should hold high. How they are beloved by all fans shows that most people hold these values as well, even if they aren't aware of it all the time.

I know people won't give to flips about this, but when someone chokes on their tongue, it means that someone is unconscious, and their tongue is becoming floppy when relaxed. However, with this fact, I can clear this up, the tongue is attached and cannot be physically swallowed, it can just become relaxed to the point where it can block the airways, thus preventing oxygen from reaching the brain. Now that's taken care of, whoever is reading this, you can go back to what you were doing before seeing this comment.

The one at 01:24 in the wheelchair is Rob Burrows, the former Leeds Rhinos and England and Great Britain rugby league player. He was diagnosed with MND (as well call it in the UK or Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) or Lou Gehrig's disease in the USA). The one high fiving him and carrying him is his best mate and fellow former Leeds Rhinos and England and Great Britain rugby league player Kevin Sinfield.

Hard to pick as ALL these people are MAJOR HEROES at being Human! On a team-to-team level, the whole of the opposing team wearing Ukraine jerseys in support. On a team-to-one level the team hugging the mom of the deceased son/teammate. On a one-to-one level, the coach saving her swimmer.

0:32 To be fair, it was only logical decision for both of them. They agreed to share 1st place, and they're both olympic champions, otherwise if the competiton continued, they would risk beeing pushed down to 2nd place. Between certain 1st place shared with another competitor, and potentially losing gold just to try beeing on top of the podium on their own - it's a nobrainer

It's a charity thing called the Teddy Bear Toss. When the home team scores the first point of the game everyone throws stuffed toys they have brought with them onto the ice, these are then collected and donated to hospitals and charities.

True but story time: I frequently gag when coughing. A couple months ago stuff came up, and idk if it was a laryngospasm or what - but I suddenly lost my ability to move any air. I couldn’t even cough. It was absolutely terrifying…I was going to call 911 when I finally sucked in a little air. I wasn’t timing it but it felt like maybe 20 seconds so not that long. But I can see a layperson thinking “is she choking on her tongue??” bc I obviously wasn’t choking on food, but it looked like I WAS choking…. like I said I couldn’t even cough.

Actually what he meant is sometimes when you get hit hard it causes almost like a seizure in which the tongue flops back toward the airway causing restricted breathing. Swallowing your tongue is just the term people use.

It bothers me as well when people talk about swallowing their tongue. In the past, this was believed to be true, but like the other person who replied, it is a blockage due to the patient being unconscious and their tongue being totally limp. The best way to handle that is putting the patient in the recovery position, which will cause the tongue to fall forward out of the mouth, thus opening up the airway. Still, this was a great show of sportsmanship and humanity. 🇨🇦
