Honestly, I love the snare in St. Anger. Because it’s really unique and fans (including me) wouldn’t want their favorite band to end. People will have to start liking the snare like I did. let me guess you sorted the riffs in the transition order didn't you?

Everything changed with the Black Album. It brought this genre of metal to the mainstream. For me, CD's with the accompanying Tab books accelerated my learning curve 1000% . To this day I still love a good metal riff. These days with KZread, Truefire, Songster etc. learning your favourite guitar styles is pie in the sky as they say...

You could smash concrete blocks with those downstrokes. Sheesh! Me gusta.

Metallica has great riffs that are possible to play on the guitar. Megadeth has amazing riffs, but they’re so difficult to play.

Megadeth riffs are made harder than most Metallica riffs on purpose. Dave thinks that he gets appreciation when he just rushes and makes as hard riffs as he can. Metallica riffs are way better sounding (I still like Hangar 18, Tornado of Souls etc. don't get me wrong) and more better produced. Still both great bands in their own ways, I just sometimes think that only thing Dave Mustaine wants is to beat Metallica, not to make music he likes.
