Watching you sort thru all that reminds me of all the totes I went thru of high end vintage costume & Antique jewelry at my dad n moms house a few months ago. There must of been over a thousand pieces in 4 big long totes, it took 4 months to sort & untangle everything. It's was fun finding so many neat things & putting together sets by color or stone or finding matches of sets.

I now know what makes Tiger Eye truly fabulous!!!!! Thanks, Dawn... you owe me 50 cents because we both screamed "OH MY GOD" at the same time when you pulled those gems outof their resting places !!!!!!!

Frame 22:49 That wooden handle w/ hooks on the ends, wasn't used for carrying plastic bags. Back in the 60's ( an further back ) you had to wrap your Postal Packages ( Boxes ) in brown paper & tie the box ( both ways ) with twine an knot it tightly, or the Post Office wouldn't accept them. That Handle you found was to hook your pkg. by the twine for easy carrying. Lots of them were " Freebies " given out by different stores as an advertisement. Like the one in your hand there had some advertisement on it. Yes, I'm old, but I find humor in things like that. Just like you know what alot of new gadgets are that I can't figure out. lol :~)

Love this! My mom always sent packages from Alabama to my grandmother in Ohio and they were tied up like that in brown paper, and that was in the sixties and seventies. Such a cool piece!

@@cathyhill4422 I remember my Grandfather taping up my birthday present All the way around, before he wrapped it up in the brown paper & twine. He wanted to make doubly sure my package got there in 1 piece. All the way from Arkansas to Texas. :~)

Honestly that handle is very vintage. Probably 60's. When you would buy a coat or something heavy in a department store, they would put the item in a box. Tie string around the box and then attach that handle to the string so you could carry the box without hurting your hand. I remember those

Take everything out in small piles and sort. Sometimes, in the messy mix there are small hidden treasures. Have them give you several heavy duty necklace and bracelet bars so you can sort for them too once you have it in your hands, otherwise all that work goes to waste and back in the bin. Also, sometimes the best real gold bits are mixed in at the bottoms. That way, you pick for you and help them out too even more. Makes it easy peasy.

I saw that you stated that the stones you tested in this video were quartz but don't understand why as the needle went past quartz. Can you explain?

I think it was still reading as quartz, but on the end :)

The crosses are maybe 'copies', but could be originals...usually hand carved in pot metals in Ethiopia. Had one I purchased in Addis Abbaba and sold it decades later.
