Olivia was never meant to be a star. Sorry, she’s talented but she doesn’t have the it factor. If Clive Davis and 50 during the height of his popularity couldn’t turn you into a star, then it just wasn’t meant to be. It’s too bad, I would’ve loved it if G Unit found a dope R&B chick the way Murda inc did with Ashanti.

Murder Inc had a complety different set up. Ja rule was doing records with Cristina Milian, Mary J Blige etc before Ashanti. So, Murder Inc had already set the RnB platform for Ashanti to succeed. Also remember that Ja rule was also doing collabs with Jlo. So there was a high RnB identical feel to Murder Inc. G-Unit was different. This was a label known for hardcore rap music in the beginning before they begun going commercial with tracks like "On Fire" by Lloyd Banks, "In Da Club" by 50, "Stunt 101" by G unit etc. So G unit was not known for RnB music. This meant that Olivia was going to either be a hit or miss unlike Ashanti. Olivia wanted to do RnB records with the G unit members but that would have tainted their street cred. Ja Rule and Ashanti collabs just took off unlike Olivia and G unit. 50 should have probably given Olivia the freedom to do her own music with other RnB artists in the industry at the time. Maybe she could have blown up.

Everyone loved her music, the problem is she didn't have the heart...She did a feat with Family Ipupa even in Africa she was famous. She just didn't know how great she was...
