Yeh no slap rounds can be trusted most are probably fakes that have been reloaded improperly making them dangerous to the shooter

The saboted light armor penetrator family of firearm ammunition is designed to penetrate armor more efficiently than standard armor-piercing ammunition. In the US it was developed by the Marine Corps during the mid/late 1980s and was approved for service use in 1990 during Operation Desert Storm.

The black tip is an armor-piercing round (M2 or Mk 263) The silver tip is an armor-piercing incendiary (M8) The red and silver/grey tip is an armor-piercing incendiary tracer (M20 or Mk 300) The black and red tip is an armor-piercing tracer (C44) (also, the reason it did so much damage is that it has a large tungsten carbide penetrator instead of the regular hardened steel penetrator) The green and grey/white tip is a high-explosive incendiary armor-piercing (Mk 211 Mod-0 or Raufoss Mk 211 or "Party Popper") The last one is the SLAP or saboted light armor penetrator (M903)

I've shot most of these rounds except for the black and red tip and the slap. I won't shoot the slap since I'm not reloading them and I don't normally see the black and red tip online. I've shot one raufoss round into a push mower and it took had the engine block out, but at $75 + shipping, one round was enough! Lol

‘Edwin, come touch this’ would be a great t-shirt gift to him! LOL😂- Maybe with a hand touching a really hot spent round. Great shooting guys!

What happened to Scott was really unfortunately but that is something that happened one out of 1 million. after what happened with Scott i’m sure that those who make the slab 50 will be much much more careful to be sure that those Dangerous mistake Don’t happened again

I like the 50 cal bottle openers, pretty cool! I've had one for quite some time, but it also has the bullet on it. I wasn't surprised to see the 50 destroy that head, I've shot API rounds that still zipped through my AR500 steel plate at 400 yards. One thing that does surprise me, that raufoss round penetrated more material than the slap round did, I figured the slap round would have at least zipped through the plate too, but I guess that shows that the raufoss round is no joke!

Okidokie. Fun video. And on those 50 BMG bottle openers, add a salt shaker to the open end. Nobody else does except my home made ones, which disappear as fast as I can make em. The beer drinkers can be unscrupulous sometimes. Lol.

I was an Army Tanker for a decade, I used a lot of these Black tip M2 AP Silver tip M8 API Red tip Silver band: M20 API-T Green tip silver band Mk211 HEIAP ( SLAP)M903 Saboted Light Armor P.enetrator. I don't know what the Black with red band is AP-T maybe?

Suggestion for future cylinder head shoot. Length wise thru all the valve stems and water jacket castings. Freeze plug center hit makes for interesting long path carnage! Many years ago. It took me several shots with a 30 - 30 to achieve Full Head Penetration!

For anyone who is not privy to what happened to Scott on the Kentucky Ballistics youtube channel... He was shooting these 50bmg slap rounds and chamber pressures exceeded what his rifle could contain, consequently exploding his gun and throwing shrapnel into his neck. He almost died. Be VERY careful with these particular rounds as there is a chance they can be over loaded and unsafe to shoot.

The "reloaded" rounds Scott got had a chance of being charged with the wrong powder (not overloaded as the proper powder charge/type is like 95% filled to the top of the casing due to the light projo) We have only bought factory loads. STILL, any round you get has the potential to be faulty. Last, You still drive a car and people die in them every day, but we still get So many comments about Scott. Glad he is OK.

That 1st round seemed to have ALOT more recoil then usual. And he had to hit the bolt upwards with decent force to get it open. Seemed a lil spicy. Spicy 50 rounds make me nervous after scott

You both got pinged in the head on the home made body armour out of primers!

Question: since you’re only firing one round then clearing, why not use a bolt-action single shot like a Serbu BFG-50 or Barrett M-99?
