Hi Madame Max, So much thanks and love for the way you re talking when delivering lecture. I 'm much attracted by your so nice teaching expressions. Love you.
Notes by native English speaker: Table! Note that these are Table's interpretations of words. Note that Table makes his definitions before he sees what Max thinks of the words, therefore any similarities are simply a measure of how precise in meaning each word is to a native English speaker. Cheerful: Cheerful is a very visual word. You can be happy without being cheerful. To be cheerful, happiness should be visibly shown. e.g. a person that likes to smile a lot seems cheerful but could actually be sad on the inside. Perky: As Max said, this word is very similar to 'cheerful' as it is also quite a visual word. Perky tends to have more energetic connotations. (Table wouldn't use this word as it has some other meanings which can be taken as inappropriate or make people misunderstand you in quite a bad way.) Content: This is quite formal and is normally used when saying that you are pleased with an outcome but not brimming with joy like with perky. Delighted: This is also a calm form of happiness like 'content' but evokes a bit more... as in *very content*. Delight is like a soft smile; the cherry on top; the warmth of a fire in the winter. Thrilled & Overjoyed: These are like 'cheerful' to the extreme. This is not just brimming with joy, happiness has spilt over and cannot be contained. - very visual. You cannot call someone who is sitting still thrilled or overjoyed as the aspect of their happiness being unable to be controlled is what defines these words. Overjoyed > Thrilled in terms of happiness levels Ecstatic & Elated Very similar in meaning to 'thrilled & overjoyed' but is much more commonly used (in Table's opinion). Also has the aspect where happiness cannot be contained. Ecstatic > Overjoyed > thrilled (happiness levels) Ecstatic is what you feel in the moment when the thing is happening/about to happen. Elated is more of what you feel in hindsight or after the event has occurred. So even if you say "I am elated..." the happiness high has already come down. Table thinks this is because Ecstatic connotes the feeling of excitement more than Elated does. e.g. Table is ecstatic to go to the theme park. compared to Table was elated to hear that he was invited to a theme park. Going to the theme park is yet to happen but the invitation has already come. Table has only done the Happy words but if you want some more, then Table would be delighted to do so for you :D
I have Borderline personality disorder and a list like that really helps me to try to figure out my feelings better. Because lost of the time I can't name them or just name the "category" like sad or happy but no further graduation or a more specific expression. Like if a person can see blue but can't differentiate between dark blue and light blue. I made a mind map of the vocabulary and hung it on my wall so I can try to better understand my emotions
Excellent selection of words, most learners get stuck with the same adjectives, while there is a wide variety of words to choose from.
Hi Max, you have done a wonderful job! This kind of vocabulary video dispels many confusions in the usage of words. please keep making this sort of video. Thanks

Mis Max, I want to ask you a question. Would you mind responding me ? Of i want to feed my child into her mouth. Can i say : eat please. Or is there any other casual expression ?
@EnglishwithMax

I can't think of a casual expression for that. I think we'd just say "eat, please" or "please eat".

There's a legend in connection with Sophia. She was the first woman, the first female, the first girl on this planet. She was not born. What is more: she was not created. She outshined, as the quintessence of the magic creation of our world. The Creator was shocked and astonished. The word "philosophy" means: the love of Sophia. The only point of the existence of males: looking for the smile of Sophias, living with us. Max, I guess, you are one of them. Take care! And have a great summer in Australia. In Europe, we're in trouble at the moment. I miss sunlight.
Amazing🇧🇷👏👏👏
