Hi! It’s Shae. In this video, I showcase my 5-year dreadlock transformation. I show pictures of my hair the day I started growing my dreadlocks and how my hair looks now.
**I have been loc’d for 5 years now and this is my 3rd loc journey. I have thick, semi-free form locs this time around. In my first two loc journeys, my locs were thinner. I had over 100. Now, I have 46 locs.

Sorry, I pressed the Thumbs Down button by accident. It said: "Feedback shared with creator". I pressed the Thumbs Up button to change the rating. Just letting you know I pressed the button by accident! Thanks for sharing your journey!
Thanks for sharing your journey and documenting from the beginning. It's nice to see how progression flourishes
Beautiful ❤ I'm also 5 years in! So invigorating watching your journey. Reinforces my love for my own.
Thank you for sharing. I’m living my journey so far. I’m 18 months in and looking forward to forever. Hated I took so long to start.

You’re so beautiful. Thanks for sharing ❤
I just love watching your videos. My hair is about your length and I'm struggling with dryness all of a sudden. I hear you talk about oil. Do you spray water at this stage? Do you still use glycerin or is it only the black vanilla
@ShaeLaird
Жыл бұрын
I don’t spray water. I use to use Rosewater Glycerin a lot but I stopped. I felt like it made my hair too oily, however, it may work for you. But yes, the only thing I may use on a daily basis is the Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla.
Love your journey, beautiful locs😍 I have 49 locs so it’s nice to see someone with a similar number have a lovely journey. Do you recommend dyeing with herbatint on locs and how often do you dye your locs?
@ShaeLaird
Жыл бұрын
Yes. I love Herbatint. I try to dye at least once every 2 months.

Beautiful Locs Sis
Where did you get your black satin ribbon from that you're wearing in the video? I want to try it on my locs.❤

Funny enough, it is from an old dress that I had. But, I am sure you can get one from any craft store like Michael’s or Hobby Lobby.
This is why they say: ‘Gets better with age’… You’re a Fine wine now darling!

Your hair looked loced month 5

It was. My hair is coarse, it locks quickly.
Hey! Your locs are beautiful. ✨🫶🏽 I am 9 months in and having trouble maintaining my palm roll. Thinking about switching to interlocking… I have fine strands medium density. Do you interlock or palm roll for your retwist? What twisting product do u use?
@ShaeLaird

I don’t interlock or Palm roll. I just wash and braid. I am currently using water and apricot oil. If I need to add shine, I use Carol’s Daughter black vanilla.
