5 YEARS ALCOHOL FREE! There are so many reasons to quit drinking. Life is fabulous without alcohol!

July 24, 2016, I had the worst hangover of my life. I was drinking constantly, blacking out drunk every day and my health was in dire straights. I had done something truly stupid the night before and I was at my rock bottom. I knew I couldn't go on like that and I also knew that my true self was dying from the poison. The REAL me was being held captive by the habit of abusing alcohol. I had to break that habit and fast.
I quit. Cold Turkey. It was rough. Alcohol doesn't leave your body for 10 days. But, day after day I felt better. I talked OUTLOUD to myself whenever I wanted to drive to the store and get a box of wine... playing it forward in my mind and the end result was never good. Your mind and words are POWERFUL and you can change your mind about alcohol and taking that drink. PSA: The first drink is the biggest fucking liar EVER. Walk away. Don't believe you can have just one. Walk the fuck away. Go for a walk. Call someone. Sit with your craving and actually think about how you're feeling and thinking and why. Are you lonely? Tired? Hungry?
You have to replace the alcohol with something. Figure it out.
My health is dramatically better, my mental state is actually happy, I sleep better, I have saved over $15,000 and I feel serene and peaceful in my spiritual life.
YOU CAN QUIT DRINKING, TOO!
I've also been able to be incredibly creative and started using my God-given talents to do some acrylic painting. I would never have been able to create like this if I had been blacked out drunk. If you are interested in seeing the book covers I created (I took photos of my paintings. Actual paintings are for sale, too), please go to my author site on Amazon called Sirius Art (see link below). Please follow as I am adding a lot more content daily. Since I just uploaded in the last few weeks, the "Look Inside" feature isn't on my books yet. Journals, dream journal, notebooks, sketchbooks, prayer lists , sermon notes, password trackers, weekly meal planning and more! Puzzles like sudoko, word search, word scramble, crosswords are all coming soon. Please FOLLOW my author page so you will see new merchandise as I upload it. I would certainly appreciate your support for small business!

The biggest roadblock to getting and staying sober, is that people put all their focus on "not drinking". They falsely believe that alcohol is the "root problem". It AIN'T! There are exceptions to everything, but for the chronic drinker, the root problem is the inability to live life on life's terms. How do I know this to be true? Because that was ME! The moment I accepted that my BEHAVIOR had to change, was the moment I began to recover. We literally have to change how we move our feet. We have a saying in recovery, "Bring the body and the mind will follow". How does that work, you ask? We take ACTION we don't believe in, and get results we can't explain. When this happens, the iron doors of substance abuse swing open and reveal the opportunity for a "great life" in every sense of the words. I no longer hope and pray for a life of abundance, I have one! The way for me to keep it, is to give it away! All the best...Mark 5/8/1994

@@RobynWingerter i was looking at Annie, Craig Beck on YT and there you were over a year ago. I was so taken with your story, smile, truth, and encouragement that I stopped drinking and I am now on day 345. It was just by chance that I looked for you yesterday as I often replayed your videos in the early days. I was so pleased to hear your story going forward yesterday. Made my day. Thank you so much and thanks for posting. I hope to hear more from you in the future.

K L, Yes, you're right. Alcohol will kill you. Albeit slowly but it wins in the end if you let it. You CAN quit drinking. I encourage you to join a free site called This Naked Mind Community (maybe that's how you found this video). It's a support group for those who want to quit drinking without a 12-step program. I've been on that site since the day I quit drinking. All support, no judgement, you can hear what others are doing to help themselves. You can remain anonymous. I'm sending you all the light, love, positive energy and encouragement I can muster.

KL, I can't recommend enough reading "This Naked Mind" by Annie Grace. It completely changed the way I view alcohol and it made quitting easy. There is no guilt or shame or struggle, it just comes down to how you view alcohol and your relationship to it. I drank for almost thirty years and was able to walk away from it with zero desire to ever go back. Good luck. Don't be afraid. It's scary at first but absolutely worth it. I've been alcohol free for over a year now and I love it more and more every day.

You're going to feel like crap for a bit more. It takes 10 days for alcohol to detox from the body. But think of it this way... you WILL feel better as you live without alcohol. The alternative isn't very good. You can do it. You can. I know it's hard but it will be worth it.

@@jlr194 Do you have a support system? I would encourage you to reach out to someone. The withdrawals from alcohol are bad (miserable) but not just physically but mentally! I honestly never thought I could go without it. It would throw me in to a panic thinking about not having wine. So I'm here praying for you right now. Your body is detoxing from sugar so make yourself eat good food. Stay away from junk. That only exacerbates your symptoms. Drink a shit ton of water!! Or Gatorade. You're going to need electrolytes. I'm so sorry you're in this spot but I can assure you... it will get better if you can just get through it. It really is a decision... like a minute by minute decision... but you can do it. If you can, get outside and get fresh air, walk down a path with lots of trees. I know that may not be possible but being outside in the air will make you feel better. And know that I am praying for you and that somebody out in this fucked up world truly cares about you and what you're going through... 🙏
