I train Parkour barefoot mostly and when you are doing a precision jump barefoot, you will HAVE TO point your toes at the edge. That is the only way to do it painlessly. Because contact with the edge hurts when you are not wearing shoes. This is why you will have to re-learn precision jumps if you start training barefoot.

I can vouch for this, you technically can do it without pointing your toes, but any slight inaccuracy hurts.

Don't forget it always hurts to relax your ankles and land with your feet really far apart! Lol. Oh and another way to describe landing on the edge is to talk about it as landing with your feet out in front of you.

Be carefull making advice to not point toes down, and telling people to drop their heels. While teaching parkour this tips has led to a lot of ankel-things. I would say have your heels down, but make sure to press down your toes once you make contact

For sure! Telling a beginner anything overly specific about any body part is going to lead to problems. Numbers 1, 2, and 4 are all misunderstanding we see from people with 5+ years of experience who are “pros” or coaches.
