I'm starting my Primary PGCE in September but graduated from my undergrad in 2017 and didn't even think about the different referencing styles and how I'll need to learn all that kind of thing all over again, thank you for the reminder so I can start thinking about it now ☺️ also, congrats on the job! 🎉 If definitely sounds like a great fit for you and such good experience to get to teach all year groups!

Thank you for your comment Hannah! Yes, honestly I found it so difficult regarding the referencing... didn't know there was anything other than APA so it's worth looking at although the affiliated university may offer some guidance? Thank you, it's not the NQT job I was hoping for but I think I'm very fortunate to suddenly have this experience of teaching in all years and being consistent with the same children xx

Thank you for all of your tips,. In particular, referencing for assignments and subject knowledge, relating to the History Syllabus in Key Stage Three, and Key Stage Four, are particularly relevant , as I am starting a PGCE, in Secondary Education, to train as a history teacher.

Congratulations on that, not long before you start!! Yes and there will definitely be books on certain history topics you can delve into to support your subject knowledge and even allow as recommendations for students should they choose to ever research further. I hope those assignments go well and thank you for your comment xx

I think the tip about reading children's literatures is great. I love the shape trilogy books by Mac Barnett!

@@amie677 there are so many out there (might be worth looking around on Amazon), but this one (aff link) seems good. Please bare in mind I'm not a secondary trainee! It's got sections on classroom management, on tips for your wellbeing, but it also talks about their wellbeing and cognitive development etc. amzn.to/32YBpUo xx

Out of curiosity, what sort of essays did you have to do during your PGCE?

Thanks for asking ☺️ I will be doing a video about assignments but I had one on a core subject in primary (the secondary trainees had to do their specific subject), one on an area of inclusion and one about an aspect of our professional development. All were linked to effective practice in those areas. Hope that helps! Were the assignment tips useful for you then? Xx
