A samurai at first, and then a Ronin, Miyamoto Musashi is considered to be the greatest swordsman ever in the history of Japan, in large part due to his almost surreal discipline. Indeed It is being said that he fought 60 duels, and never lost one. He fought for the first time when he was 13 against an experienced Samurai, and came out victorious. He took down the greatest swordsman at that time, one by one, until the throne was his, and his alone. However, Miyamoto was more than that. Not only was he a master of his craft, but he was also an artist, a cerebral philosopher and a buddhist. He sought meaning, wrote war and philosophy books, and his work became a blueprint for people who want to live a disciplined life. A week before he died in 1645, Miyamoto Musashi wrote 21 principles called “Dokkodo '' by which he expresses a stringent, honest, and ascetic or strongly self-disciplined view of life.

“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.”

Somewhat off but still on topic...I usually rewatch the last Airbender series once a year or every other year. Uncle iroh words and character remind me of the book of five rings. One of his quotes is how embarrassing life and all it offers good or bad, how it changes you as a person, how you grow from this. And how when we often face what makes us anxious, nervous, scared etc is often not so when we see them for what they are by facing it

I had a martial arts teacher that explained this differently but I found it helpful. If you try to force your mind to be still, like if you are in a bathtub and press every wavelet down, you will only wind up creating more waves.

We all know what stoicism mean to all men that make their search to self improvement and what is to become responsible for your acts and true to himself. But on the other end, what does the other gender can bring to the table ? Is feminism a all piece of garbege that does not deserve to be studied through ? On this short video I tried to bring the sides of feminism that can be compared side to side with stoicism and what can be learnt with it. kzread.info/dash/bejne/fKqWmpuimKrTpdo.html

I feel like flow and charisma goes hand and hand. As you accept and love yourself unconditionally (no shame/regret) and others with compassion (no judgement) you become more open and smooth, due to letting the mind to chill enough and not looking for the next conflict to keep the ego going
