..thank you Chase and thank you Maestro Rodney Jones..I can tell that the Maestro took lessons back in the day from one of the original swing guitarists, the teacher that Chieli and I had was big on playing a tight rhythm and knowing all your inversions up and down the neck..you got to know the authentic feel from someone who grow up in that period..99% of those old guys are gone now of course..an example now, someone like Jimmy Bruno who is a little younger than those guys were

Glad you enjoyed it!
Very helpful stuff. Thanks. See you in a few weeks at the jazz intensive. Looking forward to meeting you and learning more!!!
Solid lesson Rodney! 🙌
Thanks Chase - have you done a lesson on 'Essential Jazz Lead Rhythms"? I find that there are lots of phrases where it is the rhythm as opposed to the notes that make a phrase sound 'Jazzy'... e.g. quarter note on the 'and' of 1 then a triplet on beat 2. Instant Jazz - especialy if you play a minor 7 arpeggio starting on the 7th. Would love to see a video where you cover something like this concept.

Interesting, but what happened to #5?
Dude, not true. They are called rhythm changes because the are the changes from the song "I got rhythm."
