Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this video, BuzzFeed producer Erin Phraner shares a tutorial for how to disguise thinning hair on women, especially due to postpartum hair loss. Learn how to hide thin hair with easy hair tricks anyone can do at home. Make your hair seem fuller, thicker and healthier in minutes-no bald patches!
Here’s what Erin does to help with her own postpartum hair loss journey…
1. Brush hair BEFORE the shower (not after or in the shower)
2. Use a hair powder, like...
-COLOR WOW Root Cover-Up www.amazon.com/COLOR-WOW-Cove...
-Toppik www.amazon.com/Toppik-Regular...
3. Try clip-in extensions
4. Tweak your part but only slightly
5. Use mini clips or bobby pins to add volume

I have Female pattern baldness , and I know the struggle is real.... Thank you for addressing the sensitive subject of hair loss , and your baby is absolutely and utterly gorgeous 💕
Why did this almost make me wanna break down...I could just sense all that deep frustration and sadness of struggling with balding/thinning hair loss.. i'm just so thankful there are ppl around who can relate to this who are willing to show the rest of us who haven't tried all these ways of being able to cope and work around our issue, it feels good and i wanna thank you Erin
My hair dresser amazed me one day by using a bit of dark brown eye shadow to disguise the thin area around my face and on my part. 30 seconds and I was blown away! Absolutely undetectable too.
Thank you so much for making this video! I have such thin hair on the top of my head and it’s getting to a point where it’s too bad to hide.
Great tips and here are a few others that might help. I've struggled with it a long time. I don't wash my hair unless I really need to help reduce fall out in the shower. If it's starting to look oily, but otherwise I don't overwash it. I gently brush it, I use heat protectant if I curl or straighten my hair. I use hair fibers too and I use a brown spray like Not Your Mother's Clean Freak Shampoo with dark pigment or Loreal has a spray for roots. I love how they say for root cover but I think it means for thinning hair. If air drying I use small silver styling clips to raise and clip hair so that it dries in a lifted shape away from the head. If I blow it out I use a large round brush to lift hair as it dries. Using a volumizing shampoo and condition and root lifting and volumizing products and blowing out always gives the best result imo. I always check my head in a mirror from the back so I don't miss a thin patch on top that I can't see from the front. If I put my hair up in a clip, pony tail or updo then again I check the back and sides of my head to make sure there aren't any black patches. If there are then I use a little dark spray to fill in a shooze the hair around the make it look nice and covered up. Lasty, I will probably never go swimming and get my hair wet around others. In pictures, to my horror I saw that my wet scalp was completely white in some places. Sadly I didn't enjoy looking at these vacation pics lol. Lastly, I give my hair a break as often as I can when I'm at home. I also wear sunglasses on my head when I run errands cuz I think it looks cool and covers thinning in the front in a pinch. If I'm out and my hair looks sad then I take my fingers and massage my scalp above the ears, back of head, top of head and repeat. If I keep doing this it literally kind of teases the hair and I can' make it pretty full looking and then I smooth it into a shape I like. Good luck my sisters!

I think you and your hair look great. Even with the hair loss you mentioned, your hair still looks really nice. I’ll take it over mine any day!
Thank you so much for the advice! Your video was very helpful and really helped feel like I'm not so alone in this struggle!
The half up hairdo you did at the end is such a great trick and is such a pretty style on you 😌 I like to add some small hair flower clips over the Bobby pins and it looks like I made an effort when it just took 60 seconds ♥️
i relate to this video so much! thank you for these tips they are very helpful ❤️
These are great! I have clip in extensions. I bought them extra long and had my hair stylist trim them to blend into my hair.
Thank you so much for sharing

It's so hard :( I'm sorry you've been going through it for so long. Thank you so much! I definitely have my days where I lose my confidence as well. But I try to do little things like this to feel good & just LIVE LIFE instead of always worrying about my hair (which, to be honest, I did almost constantly at the beginning). Sending you hugs!! xoxo

@@SYO506 I felt abandoned by my two beloved for this reason. When I broke up with the first one, I thought I was making a smart decision as him reacting on my bald spots was a red flag that I was proudly reading. Alas, it turned out my second person called out on me for the same. He called me baldy, sick person, faulty, etc. He recalled his ex because of how beautiful her hair, nails and eyebrows were. Sadly he kept it from me until first year of our marriage. It was too late for me to undo my decision. My first beloved was far far better. Most importantly what I realized was that if I never loved myself enough because of it, how was I expecting others to love me beyond my hair texture and scalp condition? So now I also keep my confidence high and stay strong, because Im born for better.

I have the same problem.
Back in my younger days during my 3 pregnancies my hair got super thick and long as soon as my kids turned 1 my hair started thinning out, my husband passed away 2 months ago and the stress was so bad I noticed my hair got worse, I’m taking vitamins, changing my diet, using L’Oréal color spray and even buying hats to cover my hair up..but I know what your going through it’s tough, hope your hair grows back, your still so young ❤️
I use brown powder eye shadow and a medium thick make up brush to can on where my scalp shows, give it a try.
Great video. Toppik is the best thing that’s happened to me and my hair. It works wonders.
Loved the last tip with bobby pins...... I really need to try that. The powder was good too.
Thank you for these tips!!!
You gave me confidence thank you 🥺❤️
With the various fiber products you’ve tried are you happiest with the Toppik? There are so many products out there, I’m just beginning to show some scalp so I’m looking to try some products. Thanks for your video , it’s encouraging .😊
This video made me smile through tears
Those baby hands! 😍😍😍 Thank you! My youngest is 13 months and I'm losing my mind with my thinning hair! It was never thick and voluminous, so I'm not working with much 😂
Just love u girl, the way u being so honest 😘
Cutting a pixie cut and deciding to keep it short. Sometimes I miss my long hair but it's just not worth the loss in self confidence
Appreciate your honesty
Thank you for tackling such a sensitive topic. I appreciate those tips! Your baby such an angel, btw. Love that face!

Bumble and bumble dry shampoo in brown!! Lifesaver!! I have hair like yours, maybe a little worse. I am SO self conscious. This helps a ton. I use biotin and collagen and rogan for women. We gotta do what we gotta do girl!
I have thin hair too and i would love to try the Toppik. But does it come on your hands when brushing it through? I also tried hack number #1 last night and i had less hair in my shower, thank you!!!! I learned too to only put conditioner on the ends of the hair ( ive always did my whole head🤦🏻♀️) #4 Clip ins is something i would need to try..
Thank you so much. I went through post partum hair loss about 1.5 years ago but I had surgery 4 months ago and I’m losing so much more hair compared to the pp one 😞 Your baby is so cute 😍

I hear you, i didnt really lose any after i had my son. But when i went on a fad diet omggg it was awfull
Great video!
What i do for my center part, is hairspray the roots and kind of push the hair together to kind of make my scalp not AS noticeable:)
1. Don't let toxic tap water hit your scalp. Use bottled water. AND COOL. Not hot! 2. Hair powder makes the scalp even more fragile long term. Creating a weak environment for strong hair. 3. End all caffeine drinks. 4. Do a nasal cleanse. Get that head free of mucus. 5. Fix your digestion. Fix your stool issues.
This was really simple and helpful. Covid took out half my hair. Thank you thank you thank you
Thanks 4 sharing🙂💙...I had 22 rounds of chemo and radiation on my brain so I am now suffering with hair thinning...
Thank you for the tips. I will do the same for myself. 😍🙋🏻♀️
THANK YOU!!!😍 we have the exact same hair. All my life.
Great tips. Loreal spray is also great! And eyebrow products:))
Thank you!

You and your baby are precious
They say stress causes hair loss, I am sure if you saw yourself losing hair that would cause stress, if you can cover it up, it would make you feel better about it and maybe you would have less stress.
Are these hair powders safe to use when pregnant? If not, what are some safe ones that you recommend to use during pregnancy to conceal bald spots?

I combine arrowroot cornstarch and cocoa as I learned dry shampoos contribute to hair fall.
Thanks for video. I started losing my hair at 3 months post partum!!! So Wondering did your hair ever grow back??

Hey Christina, so sorry to hear you're going through it too. YES! It did. I'm going to be honest, it took me until around the 18 month mark to feel like it was back to normal. None of the supplements or shampoos worked, it was just time and patience. Luckily, being busy with a baby makes the time go by quickly :) congratulations!!

I’ve been using minoxidil for a month, and its been shedding so much 😭 I’ve heard that its normal tho. I’m 24
Care to hold my scrunchie? Oop! I have ur foot. LMAO 😂😂
The best way to stop hair fall is to shave your head and start growing it again.. if you don't shave your head it will lead to baldness.. once you shave your head again start working on roots by applying natural oils and give a good hair massage for about 10 min.. in this way you will not loose your hair instead you will be able to grow healthy and thick hair again . Trust me it really works.
Also check your vitamin D level..and increase your iron intake...
Currently 4months postpartum and hair shedding has started 😔any tips advice products 🙏🌻
