Man start simple. Do shapes and still objects like an apple on a table. Just practice until you get better. Amazon has amazing deals on markers and supplies

It’s actually surprisingly simple just very tedious. Layer a base color and keep adding darker colors for shadows and different values.

Artists and illustrators amaze me. They have a third eye and drawing ability that just allows them to know when and where to draw/color. The shading, lighting, striations and symmetry etc. Amazing 👍 Meanwhile when I feel like drawing, the moment my pencil touches the paper I’ve already messed up 😬

Incremental improvements in traditional art are often exponential. If you buy a lot of art supplies, you'd say that was a $400+ improvement. It's a lot like hard alcohol. Is a $300 bottle of scotch such as Johnny Walker much better than a $40 bottle of cheap but palatable whiskey? Only to a moderate degree. McDonalds serves a pretty good egg McMuffin for a dollar. Or you go down to a local diner and pay 7 dollars for almost the same thing maybe with a free refill on coffee.

Imagine someone walking in and saying that pictures not half bad.

It’s hard to tell which side is better because you made a collaboration between a reality take and a comic take on the character. Since I really like those pens though I would choose the left side because you adapted around the tools and made it better than anything I seen so far on your channel.🤗

I TRULY love that you use kids cheapo markers. We all start out this way. The fact that expensive art supplies aren't everything when it comes to art is encouraging for kids. I mean, we'd all love some expensive stuff, but for people - this isn't always in the cards. I've been enjoying this series so much today. Showing what one can achieve with supermarket pens, brings art back to everyone. 👍

If you stress during a work of art, you might not end up with the best. I made a drawing of a swan and I was stressed, you know how that ended? Badly. I redrew it while staying calm, and it was BEAUTIFUL!

The right side reminds me of the way Mark Bagley's Spider-Man is colored in a lot of Ultimate Spider-Man comics and early 2000s Marvel Merchandise. :)

I've been watching your videos for a while now. They help for those sleepless nights (Not because you're boring, on the contrary. It's just therapeutic). I love your cheap vs. Expensive videos. I always love both sides. They always tend to have a pretty similar result. The cheaper side tends to have a slightly more vibrant, more "ragged" as you described it look. The promarker side looks much more smooth. Too me, the cheap side tends to look more "comic bookish" if that makes sense, while the expensive side looks more realistic. Please keep doing what you're doing! Ducks are people too!

Right side! Although it was a tough choice! Left side looks surprisingly good considering the price of the supplies used and I'm not too disappointed when I use them myself, but the blending and colors feel smoother and a bit more satisfying on the right side. I have that BIC marker set and would actually love to compare them with these W&N markers! DUCKS ARE PEOPLE TOO!

For an artist, on a budget, the left side is AMAZING, though it is rough looking. For an artist not on a budget the right side is simply BEAUTIFUL!!

If you want an airbrushed quality production for your rendering. Then go right. ducks are people too
