I have seen $37.00 for 8oz basket of berries, and 1/2 gallon of milk from $14.00 to $18.00. It's a poshy place to see celebrities shop. I don't know if losing money is entirely correct...more like they don't profit from it. They own their own chicken farms and processing factories and from what I understand mechanized much of the processing meaning they need less employees to operate. All combined it keeps the cost low so the raw chicken they sell in bulk likely completely covers the low cost of the rotisserie chickens.

  • @KhanJoltrane

    @KhanJoltrane

    Жыл бұрын

    @@Iampatrix Yup, like you said, they don’t make a profit, but they also don’t break even. Think about it. Their cheapest RAW chicken costs like $2/lb. This is a 3 lb chicken for $5, coming out to $1.67/lb. Then you need to think about the labor and extra effort (ovens, spices, packaging, floor space that could be dedicated to selling different items) to cook the chickens.
